  1. I am always posting about the conditions that must precede forgiveness. I've listed them in every one of my threads.

The verse I quoted says "And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 10:17

So, there is a qualification present in the verse...it applies to whoever the "their" is talking about. If it had said "Stu's sins" then it would be deceptive only if your sins aren't going to be forgiven. If you repent and believe then you will be included with those the verse is talking about!:)

  2. Here is context for the verse about the Amalekites:

The Amalekites’ unrelenting brutality toward the Israelites began with an attack at Rephidim (Exodus 17:8–13). This is recounted in Deuteronomy 25:17–19 with this admonition: “Remember what the Amalekites did to you along the way when you came out of Egypt. When you were weary and worn out, they met you on your journey and attacked all who were lagging behind [typically women and children]: they had no fear of God. When the LORD your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!”

The Amalekites later joined with the Canaanites and attacked the Israelites at Hormah (Numbers 14:45). In Judges they banded with the Moabites (Judges 3:13) and the Midianites (Judges 6:3) to wage war on the Israelites. They were responsible for the repeated destruction of the Israelites’ land and food supply.

In 1 Samuel 15:2–3, God tells King Saul, “I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them, put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”

  3. Sang this song in church today.

Afterward my thoughts were on why I love Him and, as usual, it boils down to mostly just a few things. I love Him because He is good, because He has promised to be good to me for all eternity (doesn't mean in this life I won't have problems, but His heart is for my good) and probably most important of all, because He has pledged His love to me for all eternity. These are the main reasons for why I love God with all of my heart.

This next song I'm posting because the scenery is beautiful and I like the words in the subtitles too.

    yeah, it's known as Nothing!

    Dude you are so confused.
Quantum Field Theory, QFT, the thing that confirms 'something can come from nothing', is not about creating life and God doesn't exist just because you say it does.

QFT works because its effects can be hypothesized from observable fact and knowledge gained from testing it and predicting outcomes over a very long period time now. QFT is proven to work in everyday applications as well as in the realms of theoretical physics, which is constantly providing answers about how the universe actually works.

Things have moved on since 1800's and Rudolf Virchow you know.
So stop being such a dick.

Then you admit your God's forgiveness is conditional.
Not a good look for a supposed benevolent deity

You are forever playing Bible Semantics to dodge scripture's contradictory bullshit .

Right, as you say, the context is ...

1 Samuel 15:2–3, God tells King Saul, “I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them, put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”

What a bastard your God is

Totally contradicts the preceding biblical trite remark about forgiving

"And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."
    Hebrews 10:17

Practically speaking (not spirutual theory), what is 'every word that proceeds from the mouth of God'?
Any chance of a reply devoid of mumbo jumbo please.

  8. Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. 2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. 5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.
    Deuteronomy 8:1-5

The immediate context was the Torah given to the Israelites by Moses.

By practical application, any word that comes from the mouth of the Lord would also be of equal weight. Many of the Old Testament prophets of God heard audibly from God and were given specific messages for others that would often start with: "Thus saith the LORD..."

On a personal level, I believe that God does guide His own but does not use prophecy today as He did before the Bible was completed.

  9. Overnight

    Overnight

    How convenient.

"And God so loved the world, that when the world needed Him most he abandoned them so they could make their own way, bleeding and suffering while searching for Christ, His Son, so they may see Him once again....

And God said unto them...For if they suffer for my son, they have appeased me and I will take them up into my house."

Name that book, chapter and verse.

I had a quick glance at bible Chronological Order just as a guide and from Genesis ch1 to the new testament was approx 4000 years of OT history.
In that time there is a huge catologue of (Jewish) events where God supposedly spoke to makind and performed so called miracles.
Then we have the NT where Jesus comes along and we get more miracles, which was ~2000 years ago.

Now a slight diversion in thinking; we know humans are bs artists and 'full of sin', rotten to the core. If you were to run a very large prosperous multinational company, you would only employ the best salespeople and managers, with excellent credentials.

We also know what the bible says about false prophets, if something doesn't happen it's come from a false prophet.

So, getting back to so called Gods word: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" according to the bible, the first 4000 years of life on earth we had multiple instances of God's presence, now these last 2000 years it's gone strangely silent.
Don't include christian preachers, they are like corrupt salespeople the multinational company do not wish to employ.
If God is a spirit, why resort to using man made books printed by corrupt people to get your message across?
I'll give the answer, because the bible as the answer to humanity is nothing but a scam where in the early days less sophisticated people were reeled in hook line and sinker by grandiose claims and promises.
We only need to look at current politics to see that huge scams are still flavour of the month.

I'd say, in days gone by, scammers were just a prevelent as they are today.
