You guys are not giving credit where it is deserved: 1) Dungy kept the ball away from Hester. The rest of the special team returners suck. That is not Bears fault, that is Dungy and company playing chess. They took away the one offensive weapon the Bears have. 2) The Bears had no rush? Blame it on the Bears? I bet you $100 that Dungy and Manning and crew practice a long count running the play clock as close to zero as possible. That plays into the strength of a smaller sized offensive linemen, and against most bigger defensive lines. Look at the way the Bears defensive line was going on knee every time Manning started with his antics at the line. They were exhausted because Manning kept them on the field for 40 minutes on one knee. You blame that on the Bears? I give that to Dungy and crew genius for executing that plan beautifully. They wore the bigger Bears defensive line down. 3) The Colts did nothing different on defense because they realized that was the one thing that worked out of the box agaisnt the Bears. The Bears offense fits like a glove for the way the Colts defend. Blame that on the Bears? Or just pure genius and understanding on Dungy and crew? 4) They made Urlacher innefective by running corner routes and understanding how he covers, and throwing to the other receiver. Pure genius on study of film. Lovey got a lesson in coaching preparation imo. They were able to make our stars innefective. We were not able to reciprocate the same plan. nitro
no one is arguing that the colts played a better game...all that i am saying and have been saying from the start is that GROSSMAN fucked it up big time.... and he was one of the major problems for the bears... he doesn't handle stress in a good way....his peaks and valleys are not the consistency needed to win big games...peace
Vince Lombardi could have been coaching the Bears, and they still would have been beaten. The Colts were/are a much better team.
Grossman is on par for a first year full time quarterback. You see what Eli Manning did his first year? Did you see how bad Troy Aikman was his first year? You know the season where the Cowboys started 0-13. LOL. Come on EL, you are acting like Grossman has been in the league for 8 years. This is his first full season. He played like shit, sure. But it's a team sport and a sport where the line controls the physical tempo of the game. It has been like that for 40 years and will be like that for the next 40 years.
A much better team? Geeesys. Put Dan Marino in his prime on this Bears team and they would have won by 30. nitro
Nitro, I remember Dan Marino in his prime in Superbowl 19 against the 49ers. And that game like this game, was won on the line. The 49ers defense shut him down and gave him no time to throw the ball and the Dolphins had no running game what so ever. Meanwhile the 49ers offensive line controlled the whole game. Montana had no pressure on him and they were able to control the clock with some great running by Wendell Tyler. Final Score 49ers 38 Dolphins 16
i think he is a great QB ..just needs to be able to handle stress or time in the pocket without throwing it away or throwing it off balance like he does most of the time...if you dont release within 3 sec then why attempt to push ( which is what he does )...yes it is a team sport thats why I said he fucked it up by throwing those 2 interceptions..im not saying they could have won..but by throwing those 2 interceptions at the crucial time he did..he took the bears out of it completely..at that point it doesnt matter who had what or who ran or blocked harder...that was behind them at that moment..he just completely took them out of the little chance they had...peace and better luck next year...I hope he turns out to be a great QB...he is from UF
You could put Dan Marino and Walter Payton in their prime on yesterdays Bears team...and they still would lose by double digits. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage, and the Bears were knocked around on both sides of it.
Agree that Prince is an entertainer. He's actually quite creative and unique. THAT I'll give him. However his "lead guitar" skills are VERY sloppy. He made a ton of mistakes during his solo's.
