Simms and the clown Jim Nance worst Super Bowl announcers ever... The radio broadcast of Marv Albert and Boomer Esiason were far superior... One question for you cube, since you probably spend time on south beach... WTF was that thing on prince's head last night? At first I thought it was a sock, then it thought it looked like those bows women put on poodle's heads. Prince is now a poodlehead? Oh, how the mighty royalty has fallen.
Prince impressed me with his professionalism last night. Playing an electric guitar in the rain? Yes, I know he was going to perform no matter what, but he did it in a way that made me respect him. To those of you who haven't been onstage performing, it's hard to appreciate, but as one who has, he did a great job...and it was live, no lip sync. It was a little surreal when he was performing "Purple Rain"...in the rain with purple stage lighting, very cool. He's a very good guitarist who's smart enough not to focus on the guitar, he's an entertainer who's a good guitarist.
Well, I said the Colts were going to win and until half way through the 4th quarter, it was a one possession game. I was wrong on the over although had the Colts kicking game not left those 4 pts on the field, the game would have gone over. Nothing really surprised me about this Game. The better quarterback won. The Colts derserved to win. And despite the close score, the Bears got downright mauled on both lines. I think that was the biggest surprise for me. They just got physically man handled on both the offensive line and defensive line. The better team won. Congrats to the Colts. Although it blows me away that as bad as the Bears played, as bad as both lines played, as bad as Grossman played, they were still in the game all the way deep into the 4th quarter. The Bears are a young team and Grossman performed about as mediocre as a first year full season quarterback could perform. I remember Peyton's first year in the NFL when everyone was screaming "over rated" due to all the picks he threw and his inconsistency. Grossman will get better, but Grossman was not the real problem. The line has to block better, the Bears need to get a pass rush like yesterday and maybe pick up another receiver.
Grossman was the problem....in the end he threw away the game a game that as you say was actually looking like a bear victory....but he threw it away in the form of interceptions when they needed them least. ( one which was returned for a TD ).when mounting or staging a comeback..thats a killa and he is to blame for that... in my opinion...
Yeah but EL I don't know if you have ever played football but usually games are won or lost on the line. It's just that the quarterback gets all the credit for wins and the blame for the losses. OK, let's play devil's advocate here. Say Grossman never throws that pick that gets taken back for a touchdown. Do you honestly think the Bears were going to drive down the field and score????? They had 4 first downs the whole game going into that final mean nothing drive. The bottom line is the offensive line gave Rex no time to throw the ball. Sure Rex had a bad game. But there is a reason why Rex could only throw maybe 2 deep passes the whole game. It's because the Colts were in his face the whole game. Now, there is no excuse for that fumbled snap he had. No excuse at all. This guy needs to get that problem fixed ASAP. It's embarrassing. But that offensive line of the Bears last night didn't open any holes for Jones nor did they block worth a damn.
Thomas Jones had 112 yards on 15 carries = 7.5 yards per carry ( fantastic game ) ...please dont blame the frontline or the RB's...as a matter fact the Bears were looking good up until GROSSMAN threw it away..you yuorself said they kept up...so in the end what made them not keep up?? grossman throwing 2 interceptions and having one run back for a 59 yard TD...cmon Mav I like the guy he went to UF and I know he could evolve into something good...but for now he does not handle pressure like a SB rated QB and that was their downfall...
EL, we must have been watching a different game. First of all, Thomas Jones had 54 yards on one carry alone!!!! So he really had 14 carries for 62 yards. And he had a meaningless 12 yard run on the last drive of the game. And I'm not blaming Jones, but the blocking in front of him!!!!!!!!! The Bears were never really in this game EL. I hate to say that, but it's true. The score is not even remotely representative of how bad they got their ass kicked. EL, at one point, the Colts had like 330 yards to the Bears 100 in total offense. Seriously, the game was not close. Manning did not play particularly well. They were in the red zone 4 times and only pulled 9 pts out of it. They could have very easily put up 28 pts there and should have. Sorry man, Bears got taken apart piece by piece and you can thank both their lines for that.
it doesnt matter what the stats say or how they say it...the game was very close in what matters most...POINTS... when he threw it away back to back it went from a 5 point deficit ( which could have been handled with the amount of time ) to a huge deficit which no team could overcome witht he amount of time.. so yes while the stats looked better on paper for the colts the points were more than close...making it a close game...it doesnt matter how they score 10 run play for 10 yards each or 1 play of 100 yards...but we can view it from different opinions..peace and have a great day
Truth. Take away T Jones 60 yard run, and the Bears offensive stats are absolutely abysmal. The 8 minute drive by the Colts to start the 3rd quarter really showed the dominance of the Colts "O" line. From the midway point of the 2nd quarter, I never really thought the Bears had a chance to win.
