banjo, good to see that you guys read financial statements. I'll add that client assets don't mean much. for example, i'd rather have 10, 50K clients doing 50 trades each per day than 2 mega buck accounts doing 1 trade per year.

Ken, sorry, no idea what you're talking about. The java platform has proven to be extremely fast and reliable.

  2. for swingtrading, IB is good since low commisshes. I still don't know about using a java app to manage daytrades...

If you swing trade you don't need very low commision, unless
    you are scalp trading.

Btw, IB has lote of software support from 3rd parties and great
features, and what cybertrader has got? , other DAT firms can offer you what cybertrader has

  3. Cybertrader is not the best. Far from it.

Except for commissions and other pass through costs, I think Cyber is pretty stellar. Customer service is great - (has gotten much better over the past 2 years). They now have persistent alerts which reside on their servers. They have some built in scanning ability. Futs are now offered (may take a while to line out).

Anyway, I'd like someone to explain how IB or another broker beats Cyber for trading equities (apart from commissions - which I know is not an insignificant issue).

I'll switch if I can be convinced there's a better overall platform at a better value.

I'm always looking for a better deal!!

  6. As an Active Trader, I want an easy-to-use platform, quick fills, and low commissions. I get all of that at IB, so I see no reason to switch to Cyber and pay higher commissions. I have yet to call customer service so that's not a selling factor. It all comes to down to speedy executions and commissions for me, and IB does both well.

I'm not trying to get anybody to switch to Cyber - but commission diffs are enough to get me to switch away from Cyber. Cyber has lots of other tools which I find helpful and I sometimes do call customer service - thus I put some value on service....

My fill experience w/ Cyber is pretty positive, many routing options are available - so I don't really think IB or any other platform is significantly better on this front.

So, back to the main question -----

If commissions aren't enough to get one to switch from Cyber, what else does IB offer that makes it differentially better.....

    Thanks,

  8. I don't know if Cyber has this or not; but I really like the ability to be able to trade multiple markets through a single platform. I trade stocks, options and futures throughout the day and having it all on one platform, through one Universal account really helps.
