For your so called peace, they want all of the troops to be removed, from the NATO countries in the east. Those that have joined after 1997.

I guess, then, the illusionary peace will dissapear, like those lies that,- we are only practicing next to the borders of Ukraine, with 200k units.

They want NATO troops removed from the Baltics, so they can just march in without much resistance.

There is zero point in having diplomatic talks with Putin, he proved that already in the past few weeks. All talks were just a delaying tactic for the invasion.

Russia: "Our units are doing exercises, they will leave once they're done"
Russia: "We want peace, it's the western countries that want war"
Russia: "We have troops in Belarus for the exercises, nothing else"
Belarus: "We are doing exercises with Russia, we have no plans to invade"

And this Kashirin guy says to talk with the Russians. Comedian.
Any western leader going for dialogue with Putin now is a fool. It will be ultimate humiliation and show of weakness.

The thread topic 'Germany / Italy now onboard', is, sorry, for now bs.

No one will cut russia off swift.

    Why?
Because of the oil and gas, that almost all european countries get from russia.

The gas silos are completely finished, there is nothing left now.
But the economy needs energy, private households too.

Once, the silos are filled again, they may cut russia off swift.

    That will take MONTHS.

However, russia could survive even without the gas/oil sellings:
They got $600 billion in reserves.

Are you really sure about this? Sentiment has turned quite significantly with this regard in the last hours.

Nobody has said this one cable TV except, for a retired US colonel, that instead, of ratcheting things up, we should be de escalating things down considering how close the US and Russian forces are to each other. Any slight miscalculation resulting in Americans and Russian forces end up shooting each other or firing on each other could really make this an even larger and more deadly, war. Joe Biden has moved F-35 fighter jets and Apache helicopters to Poland and Estonia. I hope nobody is stupid enough to order them to fly above Ukraine airspace because, you know the Russians will shoot them down. Putin has already fired a hypersonic missile in the nuclear drill he had with Belarus but, nobody was paying attention. A retired US general said there is no defense to the hypersonic missile as it is very powerful and flies at 5 times the speed of sound. Heaven help us if it gets used against US forces.

All true. SWIFT on the other hand is the "nuclear option" and they are seriously discussing it right now. It's insanely stupid of the West to even think about this.

And just when you think people will use their heads, whoever smart idea this is, will only escalate and make it more likely that NATO ends up fighting Russia. So, the bright idea is supply Ukrainian forces with NATO weapons thru, overland routes? Yeah, the Russians are not paying attention and will just let them walk in and hand the weapons to Ukraine? Expect these idiots to be attacked and killed by Russian forces. Putin has already warned NATO from intervening in Ukraine. This smart idea will just put the NATO vs Russia armed confrontation much closer.

  10. Most post just don't / can't get it. Russia has never been stronger financially, never been less dependent from the West. The US undermined the USD for so long that Russia is almost completely detached by now. The so-cal sanctions will hurt mostly EU.
