EUR/USD, USD/JPY, and GBP/USD. Go with a major pair. They are best for both new and experienced traders.
I have 3-5 pairs in my portfolio. It is preferable for new traders to trade with major pairs since they’re less complex to trade. I trade with some crosses as well.
Pairs move in different ways at different times but some characteristics are so long-term as to be almost permanent. Each weekend I check the long-term volatility of the main pairs, plus their price move in the last 3mths, the last 1mth, and how many consecutive recent weekly bars overlap. Low volatility and weaker recent price movements make these poor opportunities. On this basis I am currently avoiding - AUD/NZD EUR/CAD EUR/JPY GBP/CHF Also offering poor scope are - AUD/CAD AUD/CHF CAD/JPY EUR/GBP GBP/AUD GBP/NZD Worth noting also the AUD and NZD pairs have wide spreads + heavier margin requirements.
