Which chart do you look at when trying to find cup with handle patterns? 1 year? 5 minutes?
how about 5 min ? first 4-5 bars ?
A chart pattern is a chart pattern, regardless of time frame. AFAIK, there are not any chart patterns that appear only on a specific time frame. The validity or tradability of a pattern may be affected by the time frame in which it is recognized, but that does not preclude the pattern from appearing on lesser or more optimal time frames. Perhaps there are proprietary pattern findings, but those wouldn't be discussed or displayed on ET. Cup and handle is standard textbook.
I agree with Osorico.. Most Patterns can be formed in any time-frames... However, the validity of a pattern may depend on its size, shape and market conditions. On the other hand, Patterns based on Event based conditions (like Gaps) are only effective during daily (mostly) sessions.
