I haven't read much into this but from what I did all he did was list people brought to the hospital from nursing homes and died in the hospital as a hospital death, which it was.Again I haven't read much into it so correct me if I'm wrong.

At this point — it does not seem to match the pattern of the other accusations IMO.

He has refused to resign, of course.

Now I think he will undergo the indignity of being impeached by his own party, for being a sex pig but not for murdering elderly people by placing Covid patients in nursing homes.

Dems think they will be covering for Newsom and that bitch in Michigan and other leftists governors who killed people similarly.

I'm not sure it will work out that way.

The situation in Michigan is somewhat different despite a right-wing prosecutor (Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido) trying to claim the governor could be prosecuted over the nursing home deaths -- of course he is the same character who has been trying to remove her from office and supported insurgents storming the state capital to eliminate her. Of course, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has a lengthy history of controversy and questionable behavior including multiple sexual harassment claims.

Previously the nursing homes in Michigan did not want to be individually identified in COVID statistics... they took court action and the state agreed only to show COVID nursing home stats by county rather than individual facility.

However "New Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido says people who lost loved ones to COVID as residents or staff inside nursing homes should go back to get the vital information about the circumstances of their death and take that to local police and make a complaint as a wrongful death." The problem is that this is medical protected privacy information. Only a family member who was designed via official paperwork by the person in the nursing home to be allowed access to medical information can get it.

Somehow the Republicans in the state are making this into some type of scenario that the Whitmer administration is hiding information. Of course "Lucido says with HIPAA laws, he can’t get that information in his own investigation" -- but this is not something you try to pin on the governor. These are Federal laws -- the state cannot violate them.

It should be noted -- "The Department of Health and Human Services sent an update saying that nursing home patients who were transferred to the hospital and then died would be counted as a nursing home death -- if they had not been discharged from the care facility." This means the statistics released by the state showing the number of deaths in nursing homes for each country are correct.

Governor Whitmer has stood by her response in recent days. Which interestingly is the same exact thing which Gov. DeSantis in Florida attempted to do with his so called "Isolation Center" nursing homes.

Michigan provides very complete information on COVID in nursing homes by count (see below link).

    Long Term Care Data

The information below represents COVID-19 data reported directly to MDHHS by licensed and operating Skilled Nursing, Home for the Aged and Adult Foster Care facilities (licensed to serve 13 or more individuals) in Michigan from January 1, 2020 through March 2, 2021. All long-term care facilities additionally have an obligation to report COVID-positive residents and/or staff to their Local Health Department. Ensuring accurate and timely reporting by those facilities subject to MDHHS reporting requirements is a priority for the State of Michigan. The data is leveraged to guide state efforts and ensure sufficient support is provided where it is needed most, as well as to allow transparency for residents and families. MDHHS employs ongoing data validation processes and works with the Institute for Health Policy at MSU to support additional validation exercises on the data. When a facility is flagged for a validation concern, the department may work with the Regional Health Care Coalition, conduct direct outreach, and provide technical assistance to the facility. Facilities are provided the opportunity to correct entry errors identified during the validation process. All data presented is considered provisional and may change as facilities correct or add data.

The following is a graphical presentation of cumulative resident and staff COVID-19 confirmed cases and deaths. A downloadable file of data for all facilities is available here.

  8. Did he cover up deaths or record them differently... covering up deaths is where you lie about people not dying who actually did die. His crime here is mislabelling where people died to hide a problem with nursing homes.

Whatever he is guilty of it does not seem to be covering up deaths....we all know those people died.

I would say he is guilty of massive misjudgment.

Putting infected people among the most vulnerable people in your population is either very very stupid or somehow criminal. I try not to assign malice to anything that can be adequately explained by stupidity.
