Cubs and Karma?

  1. The fan didn't reach over the wall to grab for the ball. He didn't do anything wrong and was just excited to grab a ball that any fan would have went for.

He's a victim of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Fortunately, the stadium management had the sense to escort him out before the other fans got ahold of him. The guy sitting next to him, a fireman, received 50 hate calls within 24 hours.

I hope this 26 year old kids name doesn't get released. He'll probably be on a witness protection program -- or at least he may want to consider moving out of Chicago.

    Sucks to be him.

  3. I'm sure we can get Max401 to come up with a name and address for us. The guy was sitting in Seat 116, Row 9.

I will most certainly take him in...He is more than welcomed in my house....besides the game was lost by the cubs on the field not by a fan outside the field......CREDIT IS DUE and no one steps up to the plate...goes to show why 95% of traders lose...blaming the market instead of themselves...peace

  5. I remember when the US beat Colombia because a defender, when trying to clear a cross in the box, accidently kicked the ball into his own goal. The defender was killed by "fans" back in his home country.

This poor guy was, as Aphie properly said, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Additionally, even though I'm rooting for the Cubs to FINALLY WIN something, I don't blame him for the loss (shortstop error, bad pitching, intentional walks, bad coaching decisions, etc. were more at fault). But we have to understand that there are thousands of people that are potential murderers today and that guy NEEDS protection. I hope he's getting some help, especially if Wood doesn't show up with his A game tonight.

You cannot compare.....what happened in the World Cup to what happened last night...first off the defender did LOSE the game for Colombia with that kick unlike yesterdays mishap...this fan did not lose the game for the CUBS....the Cubs lost because they have no heart and when it comes to grabbing your balls and winning instead of whining we are the team to beat.....peace

Last night's catastrophe does have an upside. If the Cubs can pull it off tonite, and move on to the World Series after that fan intereference in the 8th, then they will have overcome the power of the curse and will dominate baseball for the next few years. Not that the play in the stands will be quickly forgotten, but if the Cubs win, that will be known as the final chapter in the Cubs curse:D
