Crypto is dead. Until it gets regulated.

Discussion in 'Crypto Assets' started by KCalhoun, Dec 20, 2022.

  1. Why in God's name would anyone (but a very stupid criminal) want to use Blockchain when their actions are permanently stored in the ledger?

Your argument doesn't really make any sense. Unless you mean to imply that only a 'stupid' criminals would use it. Which in that case, isn't it a good thing?

  2. Regulation would do wonders for this industry.

It’s a total misnomer that crypto‘s appeal is it being anonymous, the fact is it’s terrible if you wanna be a anonymous criminal and use bitcoin.

The people that say that bitcoin is used for a lilicit activities are completely off base it might be the literal worst thing to use if you wanna be a criminal since every move you make is tracked and publicly viewable. If you wanna be a criminal just use bags of cash.

    2. With such privacy, how to regulate?
    3. How to control crypto supply when there is a possibility of issuing "IOU" on crypto?

  6. Never underestimate greed and lack of self-esteem. Main reasons for the tulip/crypto mania.
Some of us saw a piece of garbage sold for thousands of dollars, others saw a "great investment".

There will be another FTX, another Ponzi, another Madoff or another Bitcoin. The game keeps going, it will change its name but it will never be over. The very same people that saw Bitcoin crashing from 60K a piece went crazy to buy Luna. Those people are still out there, so the game is still on.

It's not that it doesn't want to get regulated. The government doesn't want to regulate it either. Why spend the time and effort to regulate something that it cannot control?
