Very good point, since Bitcoin and cryptos inception. Thanks Fed!!

SPY and tech stocks and growth stocks also benefited from the Fed, Thanks again Fed!!

Now, rate hikes and qt are on the table to fight inflation even if it means a recession, why not a repeat of the great recession if that's what it takes, heh

What is the plan for ET people who have no crypto position?

    1. Short bitcoin (futures, etf, related stocks) until btc bottoms at xxx
    2. Go long bitcoin/cryptos at the bottom when Fed tries to fix the damage to the stock market
    3. Nothing

Wonder if there's any arb/edge re correlation between btc vs futs premkt? Seems there's a minor correlation between crypto and equity markets

Gold is considered a store of value, but it's volatile as well.

@matthuang, clearly understands nothing about the stocks, if he thinks that the fed had anything to do with those names.

No, the context is that he was being sarcastic that stocks are down more than cryptos. See for yourself below

It's interesting that you do not think the Fed tightening is the reason we're in a bear market territory in the stock market, names as diverse as Moderna, Redfin, PayPal, Affirm, Upstart, Draftkings Playboy, Poshmark, Fastly

I thought some of these are counter sectors, in a slowing economy, people are gambling online, or borrowing to pay later, or taking more vaccines

So if you don't think it's Fed tightening and removal of liquidity causing those stocks to crash, what do you think caused those names to be down so much?

Yes John, he has zero clue about the stock market.

It's presented as sarcasm, but in reality, the reason why those are down (at least the first 3 names & thus i guess the rest as well), - is different.

  8. Well, ETH is just short of that 2400 floor again. Those who missed out last time, may get a second chance now (but you missed out on selling the covered-calls $$). Not sure if we'll get that lucky to see BTC reach 30K, but I certainly wouldn't complain.

Congrats to you on your enormous gains shorting those names, Nobert!!

PayPal? Affrm? Moderna? Zoom? Hood? Viacom? Docusign? Twillio? Roku? Redfin? Roblox?

Seriously, you must have made many millions!!

When everyone has been on a buy the dip over a decade long bull market, you somehow knew that the bull market has ended and not because of the Fed hinting at rate hikes and QT

Can you give us a hint how you knew they were going to crash and not come back up as in previous dips?

I don't have any stock market positions, but maybe I can learn from your insights on the markets in case I want to go long or short in the future

Should rebound soon, Russian invasion is overhyped their recognition of Ukraine breakaway regions in current borders basically change nothing as separatists should be satisfied with their current borders => no offensive from both sides.
