(OPBL) said Wednesday that it launched over-the-counter crude oil, heating oil and gasoline derivatives on its electronic Opex platform. The oil products add to Opexâs existing natural gas products, which include options and swaps, and are cleared through Nymex Holdings Inc.âs (NMX) Clearport trading and clearing platform. Optionable Chief Executive Kevin Cassidy said the introduction of crude oil, heating oil and gasoline OTC products had come faster than expected amid an âextraordinaryâ response to the OPEX system from large banks, brokerage houses and hedge funds. âEvery week, we have been trading more and more natural gas contracts electronically and we look for the same momentum to build in electronic trading of the rest of our energy derivatives,â Cassidy said in a statement. Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.-based Optionable said it is developing Opex to work alongside its traditional voice brokerage business. Source: Matt Chambers, Dow Jones Newswires 201-938-2062
