Now there were some elements in the training from 2020 that sounded bat shit but they were adjusted in 2021 based on the post above. To claim it is some nationwide campaign to belittle children is just hyperbole taken from a tucker carlson rant.
So some bit on some teachers being trained on concepts of equity in an irregular course... Where are children seperated by race and belittled?
But in all honesty there is no curriculum plan being pushed to belittle children and separate them....what popped up in 2020 was sort of quashed to an extent and guidelines revised for bvalanced equity and INCLUSION. You keep harping on this belittling of children and separation of children but there is nothing there to support that on any widespread scale... Just because a white parent claims their children will be embarrassed when they learn about what some Americans did to Blacks or Japanese americans is their own problem to stop being Karens.
If the lesson plans are built around belittling children -- and may I point out the professors who "created" Critical Race Theory built their entire syllabus around lessons to make students uncomfortable -- then it is not appropriate in K-12 schools. Parents have become very aware that "equity training" and other programs are merely a 'soft" renaming of CRT while pushing the same material. This can easily be found in lesson plans that school systems are now being forced to hand over.
What I dont understand is why they want to only focus on how blacks were treated by whites and how some Japanese were put in camps. That may be true but that was a national defense decision. Do they mention how barbaric the Japanese were to Amrerican POW’s as well as the cruelty they inflicted on their own people? What about how Africans sold their own people to European slave traders and how they slaughtered and enslaved other tribes? That still goes on today by the way. Its 2021 and many parts of Africa still partake in this barbaric behavior. C’mon !!!! What about the brutality blacks inflict on one another on their own communities? Critical race bait theory is meant to minimize the brutality perpetrated by native americans against settlers and rival tribes as well as the brutality amongst african tribes as well as how blacks slaugher one another in their own communities. You dont need white people to hold blacks down, they seem to do a great job of doing that themselves. Equally as important are all the various programs and money afforded to blacks and yet time and time again the blacks never seem to get ahead and revert back to their “ blame whitey” ways.
Cook County commissioner urges pause on changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day, reveals he is descended from slaves owned by Choctaw tribe
isnt it weird that we even celebrate Columbus Day in a place where the guy never even landed.... how come no Balboa Day or Vespucci Day or Magellan Day.... Lewis and Clarke saw more of the exploration of the U.S. than anyone at that time.. Just get rid of it already and call it National We Dont Give A Fuck Day
This thread is mislabelled, it's more parents say "careful now", "down with this sort of thing" and finger wagging and tutting. Threads with clickbait titles go off the rails and on for too long.
First I will provide my thoughts on this -- the onslaught of legislation at the state and federal level regarding Critical Race Theory is not the proper way to address the issue. The first problem with most of these bills is that the majority of them are attempting to stop the teaching of diversity and inclusion in public K-12 schools rather than just focusing narrowly on Critical Race Theory lessons that are not suitable for underage children. Critical Race Theory is an issue which should be addressed by local school boards and school administrators. The school systems should insure their educational programs don't demean or belittle children -- while still teaching a broad view of diverse American history including all the negative points in our social history. Legislation aims to make teaching CRT in federally funded schools a civil rights violation Critical race theory teachings would be prohibited at some schools under Rep. Bob Good's legislation https://www.foxnews.com/politics/legislation-crt-schools-civil-rights-violation
