Critical Race Theory - Parents fight back

  1. Ok show me a lesson plan endorsed by a school board or county that teaches CRT in virginia public schools.

All you are doing is repeating garbage talking points but I have not seen one CRT based lesson plan approved by a BOE or State official to be taught in Virginia schools despite what Youngkin claimed in his campaign.

Unless you have proof of your claim, your claim is not true. I posted information from School Boards that are saying "We dont teach CRT".

If I said Virginia schools are teaching boys to sexually assault girls, does that make it true or I have to prove it?

First of all lesson plans are not endorsed or approved by a BOE or state official. Lesson plans are created or downloaded by teachers -- they are defined as an exercise to be taught. There are multiple websites allowing the downloading of lesson plans. Typically the only time CRT-based lesson plans make the news is when a parent complains that their child was demeaned & belittled in the classroom on the basis of race as part of a lesson being taught. And in regards to lesson plans -- let me mention recent renaming of "Critical Race Theory" to "Culturally Responsive Teaching" is just another mechanism to hide the exact same stuff being used in K-12 lesson plans.

  3. As for Virginia, unless I see curriculum issued by the State or local BOE that states CRT then the claim that CRT is being pushed in schools is just bullshit used by a someone scaring voters to win..... it worked so good job.

When parents claim being taught about slavery or MLK is CRT then we know why these people are really complaining. When a fucktard goes to Monticello and complains slavery is mentioned, we know what a piece of shit that guy is.

But hwat we also know is that the State of Virginia from the BOE to the local school boards have never changed the curriculum to include CRT or call for CRT to be taught in schools or made a policy to demean any children in VA schools despite what youngkin and a few parents claimed.

Imagine youngkin claimed girls were getting raped in schools and the dems were doing nothing about it to scare voters to vote for him and that he would swear to get rid of rape in schools and the dem candidate said "there is no state wide rape in schools" I would expect there to be proof of these state wide rapes... but alas...

  4. more general statements

no state wide endorsed curriculum endorses CRT to be taught in Virginia schools. No teachers are allowed to introduce CRT in state wide schools contrary to the approved curriculum.

I am giving you specifics you are given me FOX NEws quotes.

I think you need to have a direct conversation with a K-12 education professional who can set you straight on the difference between state standards (aka curriculum) and lesson plans. Once you clearly understand the difference then we can have a conversation regarding CRT in lesson plans being foisted on children in the classroom.

I have never supported GOP and their supporters extending the "definition of CRT" to include diversity and inclusion. And I have regularly outlined the difference between CRT/Equity and diversity/inclusion. Additionally I have mentioned many times the need to include diversity, social history, and inclusive perspectives in the K-12 classroom.

  6. Ok then we agree that CRT is not endorsed by the Virginia State Board of Education, not the County School Boards or promoted by any school administrators as mandatory inclusing in VA lesson plans and curriculums. We cannot control what an individual teacher chooses to do and if parents complain the teacher is reprimanded and the materials pulled. Youngkin blew a dog whistle and dumb voters bit. dems were too stupid to combat it and lost the election which they are good at doing.

Let me provide an example to give some clarity on the difference between state standards (curriculum) and lesson plans.

The state standard (curriculum) states that students must be proficient in multiplication and division in third grade by the end of the school year.

Two 3rd grade teachers download lesson plans to teach multiplication and division.

In classroom A -- the teacher uses a lesson plan where the class is randomly divided into two groups. Multiplication and division flash cards arbitrarily drawn from a deck are used in a competition between the two teams. Students on each team rotate answering a math questions. The student has thirty seconds to answer and a point is provided for each correct answer. The team with the most points at the end gets an award of candy.

In classroom B -- the teacher uses a lesson plan where the class is divided into two teams; one with all the white students labelled the "oppressors" and a second with all the black students labeled the "oppressed". The multiplication and division flash cards are divided into two sets; one with the easy questions and one with the hard questions. The students on the "oppressed" team are only given the easy math questions and given 2 minutes to answer (since this provides "equity") while the students on the "oppressor" team are only given the hard math questions and get 15 seconds to answer (since they have "historic advantages"). A point is provided for each correct answer. The team with the most points at the end gets an award of candy.

Now do you understand the difference between the state standard (curriculum), the non-CRT lesson plan, and the CRT-based lesson plan?

Do you understand what is fundamentally wrong with what is going on in classroom B?
