    Be quiet and then disappear?

    Anyways...

Trump asks to have gag order lifted in New York criminal trial

...Former President Donald Trump has requested that the judge in his New York criminal trial terminate the limited gag order that restricts him from commenting on witnesses, prosecutors, jurors, court staff and their relatives. His attorney, Todd Blanche, filed a letter on Tuesday arguing that the gag order is no longer justified.

Last Thursday, Trump was convicted on all 34 felony counts of falsification of business records by a unanimous jury, making him the first former president ever convicted of a crime.

"Now that the trial is concluded, the concerns articulated by the government and the Court do not justify restrictions on the First Amendment rights of President Trump — who remains the leading candidate in the 2024 presidential election — and the American people," wrote Blanche

The gag order should not be lifted until after the July 11th sentencing for the 34x felony convictions. :D

Yet, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump does something stupid again with his mouth before the sentencing to piss off Judge Merchan or Judge Merchan and someone in his family receives threats from MAGA about the pending sentencing...

Trump will then spend time in prison and then under house arrest. Yet, he'll be very popular with felons, rapists, white-collar criminals, and mob bosses at the New York Correctional Facility. Realistically, if the New York Correctional Facility is not able to be prepared for a former U.S. President...Merchan has no choice but to say "No prison...only house arrest" because the Judge will make Trump's safety (protecting the butt of Trump) a priority...

    A fair compromise. :D

Trump’s Fresh Attacks on E. Jean Carroll Could Lead to Yet Another Multimillion-Dollar Defamation Lawsuit: “All Options Are on the Table”

It’s almost as though he wants to be sued again.

Donald Trump already owes writer E. Jean Carroll $91 million for defaming and sexually abusing her and then defaming her again. That’s obviously a lot of money for anyone to cough up, but particularly for a guy who has also been ordered to pay nearly half a billion dollars in an unrelated case involving him being a fraud. Yet apparently the ex-president is unconcerned with running up his tab, as he spent the long weekend resuming his attacks on Carroll.

In a characteristically unhinged rant on Truth Social that began “Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country,” Trump insisted that he’d “never met” Carroll, and claimed that the fact that she didn’t know the exact date the assault in question took place, didn’t file a police report, and didn’t “produce” the outfit she was wearing at the time suggested the attack never happened. He also used the post to lash out at the judge who presided over the Carroll case.

(Trump has attempted to appeal the defamation judgment and delay its enforcement, but a federal judge rejected his most recent request.)

In response, Carroll’s attorney Roberta Kaplan suggested her client might once again sue the ex-president, saying, “We have said several times since the last jury verdict in January that all options were on the table. And that remains true today—all options are on the table.” After Trump went after Carroll in March, Kaplan told The New York Times, “The statute of limitations for defamation in most jurisdictions is between one and three years. As we said after the last jury verdict, we continue to monitor every statement that Donald Trump makes about our client.”

Trump’s habit of maligning his perceived enemies is, of course, nothing new, and has in fact been a major subplot in the Manhattan hush money trial. Earlier this month, after he’d already fined Trump $9,000 for violating his gag order, Justice Juan Merchan threatened the ex-president with jail time, saying, “It appears that the $1,000 fines are not serving as a deterrent. Therefore, going forward, this court will have to consider a jail sanction. Mr. Trump, it’s important to understand the last thing I want to do is put you in jail. You are the former president of the United States, and possibly the next one as well.” Last year, Trump was fined $15,000 for violating a gag order imposed during his civil fraud trial.

Note: This was a defamation civil trial in which Trump was found guilty not a criminal trial.

It is illegal in Florida for convicted felons to possess firearms, including muzzleloading guns, unless they have had their civil rights restored or the gun qualifies as an antique firearm under Florida statute 790.001(1).

If Judge Merchan was going to consider "home arrest" for Trump...that's now out the window with Trump's admission of owning a gun at his home.
