  2. Isnt it interesting that the majority of people in jail commit crimes when they are on drugs, or desperating craving drugs(including alcohol). How often do you see people go to prison that committed their crime when they were 100% drug free? You just rarely see a violent tattooed criminal that was drug free his whole life all of a sudden commit an assault/robbery/murder/drug deal.

If you legalize immoral behavior, you will just have more immoral people. If society legalized sex with kids, there would be all sorts of old men out there cruising the Jr. high schools trying to "pick up chicks" without a doubt. We live in a sick world, lets not cater to these people.

I think you are putting the horse before the cart here. In many cases if not most, it is because they crave drugs and don't have the money to afford it that they commit [some other] the crime. If you legalize drugs, the idea is that the price would come down, and while you don't solve people wanting to live in fantasy land, at least you remove the other crimes they commit in order to get the drug. I am not sure that society cares so much for people getting high. Nowhere else does society seem so compassionate, so it cannot be compassion for the addicts. It is what people do to get high, or the results of being high, that people care about. So goes the theory...

    I agree...
