Just spent 2/3's of my rewards points today, bought some trading books amongst other things. I don't trust that they are not going to F with the points ala the government with retirement acounts and social security.
now that the bill is officially passed. anyone guess what the reality will be? Banks will probably make more money off those with good credit and those who pay off their balance in full. And still find a way to abuse those with higher rate and bad credit. On a personal note, I'll probably downgrade my executive membership at Costco to a regular one. 4% rebate bye-bye.
The name for people who work for a living and pay their bills on time is. . . SUCKER! Slacking off, getting into debt, not bothering to read your mortgage contract when you sign a contract for hundreds of thousands of dollars, squeezing out kids you can't afford to pay for - all of this is the hallmark of the new privileged class. We reward screwups and punish success. We encourage failure and are harsh on those who do not fail. It's a race to the bottom now, whoever can make the biggest mistakes gets the biggest handouts. Whoever succeed the most, gets the biggest burden. It's the utopia that liberals have been eager to spring on mankind.
I suppose that the banks and multinational corporations that have their hands in the taxpayer pocket for hundreds of billions of dollars are a part of that shiftless and lazy utopia as well. Add to that rebate credit card holders who think they are entitled to free money. Where is this country going? On a positive note, the credit card bill had attached to it a concealed carry bill in national parks.
Now that the bill has passed we will see that this was all corporate scare tactics, much like we see anytime there is an attempt at regulation. The credit card industry is a cartel and thinks big fat profits are an entitlement. In the end they will be very profitable, instead of obscenely profitable. Whether we freeloaders still get have no-annual fees and rewards will depend on how well the cartel holds up.
yes! but there is will be something else for those, who vote for this.. after all above, merchants will be dealing with much more cash. it will be much easier for them to under report, underpay their taxes and it will be much harder for government to control those activities..barter baby here we go..dual economy..cost effective, fast, cash only-no taxes to gov,no sale taxes..and open, legit and very expensive..
Thank god i am dont with all these credit card companies I had opened a business in JAN ( Worst time to open a business but i got a good deal ) and i had borrowed $10K from citi to cover the deposit and goods Luckily as of today i have only $2000 balance to pay In the middle they raised my apr to 20.00% WTF I called them and told them cancel my card i have been a 10 year old customer with never late fees .
