    hahahaha lol.

Man this thread had some good discussion initially but not it is making me crack up. The hft dude fails to realize that it is beyond the capability of most of the ETers to build a full-fledged trading platform. He also fails to understand that many people are profitable using one grand off the shelf software.

For pages and pages he went on saying why retail software is worthless and he was supposedly explaining all this to you. And now after so many pages, you come and ask why hft dude thinks amibroker is a good choice. LOL.

This is where ET rocks - pure entertainment - one guy going on for pages explaining his beliefs while conveniently turning a blind eye to the counter evidence presented. And another guy still not clear after pages as to what exactly the other guy is trying to explain!

I thought you are the guy who insists saying amibroker is the best in the world LOL

  3. You are right J2ee, you need the elite programmers to be able to do that and I can tell you that if you depend on anything less than that then you are heading to a brick even if you can find the best software out there

When it comes to automation and HFT then you either do your homework right or you will lose a big sum of money

So currently you are a 100% automated trading? You were a discretionary prop which is pretty different from (or totally opposite) to systematic trading, why do you choose having a system instead of manually doing discretionary trading!?

Yeah that's why I choose tradelink to start with because there is a system for me to learn instead of starting from nothing. May be many years later I learn enough then I build one, but start with tradelink then later if I know enough to modify it if necessary sounds like much faster and realistic than building a total new one without experience.

My programming level is alright but not senior financial developer level.

  7. ok good, and I already told you to do that in my initial post, to start with tradelink to get your feet wet and build upon that

I know when strategy get complicated and amibroker language would be difficulty to find out how to implement that or may be not even possible. For long term I better focus on something like C#.
