I explained why your out of context quote was baloney. If we were bound buy all the rules in the old testament we would not eat pork and be practicing jews.

Plus your position is bullshit... you crazy reverse fundamentalist.

you essentially argue that part of the Christian faith is the requirement to kill homosexuals. Obviously in contravention to everything Jesus taught.

only a twisted whack job would make that sort of split from reality argument.

  2. so a so called perfect god who is supposed to have inspired the perfect book wasnt smart enough to get the wording right. he needs thumpers like jem to translate it for him?
so why do christians fight so hard to get the ten commandments posted in public places? where are they found in the bible?
i think christians like to follow whatever scripture they find convenient and ignore the rest.

you know Christian theology, we are not practicing jews. Perhaps the fundamentalist in you feels we should be. Fine... but don't go blaming others for your fundamentalist issues.

I should note that while I have been harsh on fundamentalists.... I have no problem with them believing whatever they wish to believe as long as they are good citizens. Which is the same standard I try to apply to everyone, including myself.

  4. You are making that up and obviously full of it. Have you ever heard of "Thou shalt not kill"? We've been through this and you ignore evidence and offer BS. Now you do it again. What's the point? Do you enjoy being used like a tool by someone who's is getting you to repeat what they think, not what you've learned by doing independent research?

Also, by just quoting that 1 thing and ignoring everything else you are PROVING everything I said. You here to purposefully not disgenuine. You can change that, I can't. Your choices, not mine. I couldn't say this if you actually responded to the rest of the message and did offer the most abhorrently out of context idiotic answers that wouldn't pass childrens Sunday school level of understanding.

  5. Everything you do is out of context manipulative BS. Either you do it on purpose or not, the way you react to posts will determine that.

  6. Once again, you keep refusing to address this:

Any tool can be used for good or evil. Does a scalpel make one out of a million doctors a knife murder? Does fire make arsonists commit arson? No. Neither does scripture, as a tool, if not used for its intended purpose, make anyone do anything you suggest. Stop being so obtusely manipulative succeeding only in fooling yourself and those more ignorant than you.

  7. First of all you have no idea how god inspires man to word anything. You are clueless and not in a position to comment judged by your replies so far, which take everything out of context and manipulate. Speaking of which, you are accusing people of doing what you do. Try looking in the mirror. You are finding whatever is convenient for your pre-conceived position, instead of objecively fitting your position to ALL the facts considered in light of ALL other contradictory facts. Yes, when there are two interpretations, how do you decide which is correct?

An objective person investigates. You just choose whatever fits your pre-conceived positions. You just clearly informed everyone you have never read scripture, you would know where they are if you read it. Anyone in a position to comment on anything has read that part of scripture. This argument is over if every single poster just keeps throwing this one fact back at FT. He's just not in a position to comment, end of story. Repeat and repeat. Keep it simple. He'll try to manipulate you off message, watch, it can be funny.

  8. That is a dangerous gambit, as someone who has read the Bible cover to cover three times. I can tell you there is a lot of contradictory stuff in the scripture. That, so far, no one has been able to explain.

My first question to bible scholars is, just where did Cain get his wife? It goes on from there. These are legitimate questions and based solely in the literal word of the scripture. I would love hear your answers to some of these thorns.

For the record, I am a critically thinking believer. Meaning, answering my questions would strengthen my walk.

So, can you please tell me where did Cain get his wife? No one else seems to know.

  9. i wonder. is it that you are not very smart or do you just ignore the parts of the bible you dont like? here are a few verses where the bible commands murder:

    Kill Homosexuals
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

    Kill Fortunetellers

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

    Death for Hitting Dad

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

    Death for Cursing Parents

    1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)

    2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

    Death for Adultery

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

    Death for Fornication

A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Death to Followers of Other Religions

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

    Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

    Kill False Prophets

If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
