  2. "There is something feeble and a little contemptable about a man who cannot
face the perils of life without the help of comfortable myths. Almost
inevitably some part of him is aware that they are myths and that he believes
them only because they are comforting. But he dare not face this thought!
Moreover, since he is aware, however dimly, that his opinions are not real,
he becomes furious when they are disputed."
[Bertrand Russell, "Human Society in Ethics and Politics"]

  3. i agree. religious strife is the main cause of war nowdays:

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." -
    -- Thomas Jefferson

Disagree. The reason is the same as it ever was, fear of death, whether death of the body, or death of the Self. Religion is an "immortality project" that battles other immortality projects (like science) so it seems to be the cause of war, but it's not. The underlying cause is still fear of loss. Which is why great inequality makes the fundamentally tragic situation worse: humans don't "tough it out" when it's not being shared, they raid.

  5. No, your rant here:

goes WAY beyond funding and is the same kind of antisemitic horseshit that the nazis used for propaganda.

  6. You are quoting the war mongering infanticide supporting anti-social behaviour promoting man as proof of what again? You know the quote. I gave it to you twice. You IGNORED it twice ... because any evidence that contradicts your pre-conveived opinion is not acceptable, not commented on, not discussed. Then you keep on propagandizing. Either you have a short term memory problem OR you have PROVED that you are here to troll around, be dishonest, non-genuine, general loser. Sorry, but enough is enough. I will apologize profusely when you change, until then a spade is a spade!

QUESTION: Do you become furious when your opinions are disputed? If not, why do you always ignore, distract, avoid, derail, attack, etc?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... anyone else need more proof? Really, anyone care to comment on this exchange between FT and myself?

  8. You do not agree, you are being manipulative, dishonest, non-genuine, practically lying, not facing contrary evidence, ignoring the majority of the message and the relevant points.

Psychopaths are the cause of war, do you include yourself in that class? Because by your own actions, you refuse to participate in reasonable conversation. IF this was done at a level where when conversation failed wars begun, YOU WOULD BE THE CAUSE OF WAR.

YOU. Not religion. Get it? Got it? Good.

Just like a scalpel does not make a doctor commit murder, religion does not CAUSE you to go to war. YOU CHOOSE, my point is YOUR PERSONALITY, YOUR STUBBORNESS would lead to war.

    Wake up mate. Wakey wakey!

  10. Steven Weinberg: With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
