  1. Radio host says Rapture actually coming in October
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — California preacher Harold Camping said Monday his prophecy that the world would end was off by five months because Judgment Day actually will come on October 21.

Camping, who predicted that 200 million Christians would be taken to heaven Saturday before the Earth was destroyed, said he felt so terrible when his doomsday prediction did not come true that he left home and took refuge in a motel with his wife. His independent ministry, Family Radio International, spent millions — some of it from donations made by followers — on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the Judgment Day message.

But Camping said that he's now realized the apocalypse will come five months after May 21, the original date he predicted. He had earlier said Oct. 21 was when the globe would be consumed by a fireball.

It's not the first time the independent Christian radio host has been forced to explain when his prediction didn't come to pass. He also predicted the Apocalypse would come in 1994, but said it didn't happen then because of a mathematical error.

Rather than give his normal daily broadcast on Monday, Camping made a special statement before the press at the Oakland headquarters of the media empire that has broadcast his message. His show, "Open Forum," has for months headlined his doomsday message via the group's radio stations, TV channels, satellite broadcasts and website.

  4. For a preacher that deciphered the date of doomsday by reading the bible, it sure doesnt seem like he read the bible....

Matthew 24:36 But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Matthew 25:13 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Mark 13:32 But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Luke 12:39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

this proves that the prick is not totally crazy. he knew some of his upset followers may try to whack him.

    Ditto,

The media and those who love to point out the shortcomings of TV evangelists and those in the lime light, never stop to commend the multitude of missionaries and those who lives are called to serve in the poorest areas of this earth, unknown to most. I know several who have spent lifetimes investing and ministering to areas and peoples in 3rd world countries, giving aid both physical and spiritual. Most never get more than a thank-you.

The one day I knew it wouldn't happen was last Saturday, but it's coming, and soon I'd say, as we see biblical prophesy lining up. I feel sorry for several here on these boards.

You knew it wouldn't happen last Saturday, so you were in exactly the same position as any other rational person , who knew very well that the religious eccentrics saying it was going to happen, were being ridiculous and wrong.

It's not coming any more than it was on Saturday. It's a fairy tale just as Saturday's prediction was on Friday.
Only difference is now you've stepped back into the religious fairy tale eccentrics' camp.
