I had done a fellowship at UTA on small molecules in oncology, well that was the emphasis. Chemotherapeutic-resistance (chemoresistance) in refractory tumor models. So those presenting terminal; been through first, second-line therapies. We used CCAs to inhibit cellular p-gp.. There are a couple papers floating around on Academia. Back then the best thing available was Taxotere and the rest were mostly alkylating-agents. Really toxic stuff. My mom developed MBC/ABC and rec'd lumpectomy/radiation. 10Y later had recurrence and treated with Dox/Cytoxan/5FU. She went into remission but developed chem-induced cardiomyopathy. I had studied CoQ10 and other small molecules at Austin and had a source for ubiquinone (CoQ10) as it was not yet widely available. My mom's LVEF went from 60 to 12, post-Doxorubicin. She couldn't walk 100 steps but was in remission. I sourced Keneka CoQ10 powder from Austin and they sourced from Kaneka in Japan. I gave her 1-2g a day at huge cost and in three months her LVEF by Acuson hit 62. Her Onco at UChicago had never seen chem-induced CM resolved. They use a protocol developed from her clinicals when Dox/Adriamycin is used. She was doing great and was advised to start on an adjuvant-cycle of Mitomycin to maintain remission, which is a drug I was violently opposed to (alkylating agent) due to possibility of HUS. Mom developed HUS months later and died shortly thereafter. I knew that the whole field is a sham. Her Oncologist had some fame but would call a second year med to calc mg/m^2 for patient dosing? He was responsible for mom agreeing to the Mitomycin. It was a tough time as dad died months before. I left school and planned to take out the Onco with a G3, but came to my senses. As far as these guys blowing themselves over fake wins... I only show time stamped gains bc nobody else will do so. I wouldn't have any cred otherwise.
Thanks for providing the backstory! I'm sure you're right about people on here not trading or not being profitable. Sadly, I'm in that group! For some people this trading thing is just difficult, for reasons even outside of having the skill or edge. Its kind of like being nice, even online, is difficult for some people. I'm sure in real life you probably are a really nice guy!
This really is sad to hear, and I think its even worse now more than ever. After this Covid thing, many people have learned to distrust the medical community, and for good reason. Luckily you can get trigger happy on ET and the worst thing that happens is you maybe make a bet that you lose on occasion. But if this fulfills the trigger happiness in you, then I think its a good cope! LOL I do tend to agree with you here. Its very difficult to get an accurate assessment of what most traders are doing when looking at their trading as a whole and not just a good run. But to be honest, I think the same thing about you. The screenshots you show are only when you're up for the day, anywhere from about 1-5%. But since you show roughly 1 a week, it makes me wonder what the other 4 days are like. Even if every day was 1%, well, we know how well that compounds. So there must be some -1% or -2% days in there... no? Now clearly there is no requirement to show consistent daily PnL's, but like I say, if every day was +1% or higher, you'd be the greatest trader or all time, no?
I have stated here and on TWTR that generally I only show PNL when it's outperformance on the upside or when I am (-)correlated. It's not random of cherry-picked. Today I was 2x mkt-beating but mostly I post PNL when the mkt is down as I trade a vol-arb with convex-tails. Today was mostly generated in short both VX and ES and the vol-things. My returns are chunky, but that's not the point of posting %returns. I have a thread where I took phone pics of my screen in r/t. The account number is shown and the tickers and news match the time stamp. If any else has even done that, or produced those numbers in a day I'd like to see it.

In short, I sent you a PM commending you for a great top call and asking which macro trends you were tracking. Your next call was a major miss and I teased you about it in the ES Journal and you blocked me instantly. This is what it took for you to completely lose it and block me. Honestly, seeing how you were calling out everyone else who did poor calls at the time and usually with really foul language I figured you could handle that much. Oh. And I do trade. Here we're in 100 % agreement on the first part. Honestly, I don't know a single person on this board that I know for a fact is profitable. There are a select few I think may be profitable, but at the end of the day I don't know as I never saw their bank account or visited their mansion. So, if I were to give any advice to any newbie lurking it would be to not trust anything or anyone unless they can verify it themselves. As for 10 years - I'm not sure that's a lot for a retail trader trying to learn this on his own with no mentor or guidance. If I'm not mistaken you have a background in the industry and maybe you had access to capital as well, so it's not really comparable to someone learning this completely on their own.
