Crash: in Detroit what kinda house can I get for 299k?

So what's your opinion of a house like this then, going to zero or good value and good prospects??

 

decent. It's close to gross pointe so it's a better area. The real problem are the schools - DPS needs to be fixed before home values will start to rise.

 

Still a waiting list to get into Oakland Hills GC. I think I could put up with detroit if I could get in there.

 

The house has 9 bedrooms. Seems a bargain for a large family - but all the kids have to go to private school, and complete SEAL training with a tactical weapons emphasis.

Well it is a complex, thoughtful question;
answer is typical '' socialist political system'' That results in depressed housing market, so many good housing buys abound.


Not that Detroit housing market will ever recover, but takes all kinds to make a market. Muslims like Detroit, but really according to those who lived there, mostly socialists screwed it down.

 

Just got a 90% pay raise from a job switch(130 base, 20 var). Things are decent.....

 

I'm too young to remember the riots, but from what i've been told it was one mayor in particular that really trashed the city.(c. young) A lot of shady things, even by political standards, were done under his multi-decade watch.

 

I dated a girl who was a junior member in the 90s, her Dad put up $40,000 just for her to get in the door. Should of married her!
