  3. if you get the jist of what is going on, any large seller of index futures, offshore hedge funds, will be investigated by CFTC, as a possible conduit of SWF's reserves that may be politically motivated.

at the G7 meeting Greenspan was asked about the role of SWF's in the present climate, he said as long as purchases and sales weren't politically motivated, they are benign.

so if your hedge fund wants to maintain trading priveledges it has to be transparent.

  5. foreign powers may seek to destablize markets by using immense currency reserves. The nature of orderflow will be looked into.

  8. #1 was the chart pattern
#2 everyone and his mother was short the dollar & long oil

#3 globalization... when we *really* start hurting..everyone feels it, & risk takers unwind that carry trade.

watch for that big oil correction this week if we really start tanking.

  9. are there levels on the yen to force an unwinding of the carry trade?
never understood when they turn on/off.

Reversals/news failures/fakeouts can have great risk/reward ratios sometimes.

The $ rally against GBP and Euro look like great setups, congrats. Hope you took advantage.

    8:24am - $/yen anyone?
you currency traders must be having a wild monday.
