Trump called to reopen April of last year like an idiot after a month of soft lockdown. Your lack of understanding of exponential growth still to this day is amazing. 3/4 of COVID American deaths are on Trump and his supporters, own up to it. Trump was unfit the moment he spouted birther nonsense on the national stage, you just didn't want to see it. Hell, for many, he failed decades prior during the Central Park five fiasco.
Again, there is plenty to lay at Trump's feet. And if you're going to talk about leadership, I'd be mildly (only mildly, mind you) curious who you actually think was a good/great leader in your lifetime. But laying the "burning of the house" as CO put it at Trump's feet is just partisan stupidity and nothing short of what I'd expect from folks such as yourself.
You guys are all missing my point. Which party you want to blame is irrelevant, both parties participated, both parties made huge mistakes. The entire government has failed and they are the people responsible for any and all economic distress which is Covid related. Now they show up with chump change for the average American citizen while giving trillions to corporations, plus giving these corporations more of an edge than they already had, and now want some kind of pat on the back. Fuck them! Every single small business needs to be made whole again. Every single person who lost a job needs to be financially reimbursed 100 percent. Where's the money come from for all that? The same fucking place they magically find it for their corporate overlords, that's where.
the GOP allowed buying of politicians via citizens united the GOP gutted the treasury passing 2017 tax cuts on record high employment and booming economy the GOP called COVID a hoax for weeks and botched the response the GOP wrote the CARES bailout which prioritized big businesses over small businesses. kindly fuck off w/your bothsideisms
Right, "bothsideisms" are irrelevant. Only one party has the right to be wrong. The other...how dare they.
I don’t disagree with this mostly. Blaming the entire government is a bit much imo. We have actually been very generous toward people who are displaced from work due to Covid. Small businesses have suffered unduly, while large businesses have reaped not only government funding that was unnecessary but also grabbed more and more market share. However, I don’t know if these things were avoidable.
I know you have a sworn oath to defend the left no matter what. I have no such blind love for either party. Since you like my analogies, which are so spot on, let me give you another. Think of America as a shelter for battered women. Spot on, eh? At this point better than half of the shelter population is also suffering from Stockholm syndrome. Spot on again. The past four years the shelter director has been, according to you, Ted Bundy. Well, that was kind of a mess. Now we have a new guy, Epstein. And, he has a female sidekick, you know, someone relatable to the Battered gals. Your position is, thank god Ted is gone, the new guy gives us hope. Yeah, he's got a shady past, but he's "evolved" so it's all good.
One can easy argue that should be drawn the other direction showing it's the left which has moved further out. The point, which seems to escape you, is both party candidates at this point are terrible choices, the entire system is broken and corrupt, and we are desperately in need of a viable third party. Problem is, the also corrupt media and corporate establishment, which own the whole fucked up system, will now allow this to happen.
Precisely. What's hilarious is when the people who are quite obviously very much progressive left try to claim - repeatedly - in this site that they are "centrists".
