Under the current rules there is no requirement that an unemployed person actively seek work. Formerly an unemployed person would have to submit how many jobs they applied for in the previous week and the progress in getting a job. Not any more. They can sit home on their couch watching TV and collect the money,
Wow...I did not know that. Then again, all of my relatives in the U.S. have been employed during this Pandemic. Different story in France. wrbtrader
Really, you believe that bullshit ... from GWB ... without him citing a source? Wow! First. Each state handles those benefits. There is no one size fits all. But ... Why then is there so much bitching by people on social media, even here at ET too, about others receiving Unemployment Benefits if those people are receiving such while actively trying to find work ??? This bitching has been going on since the fall of 2020. Simply, if someone is getting the benefits...seems to me they must have earned such because they had been actively looking for employment. Note: Most (not all) of such debates were by those supporting the GOP...referring those getting the benefits as sitting home and choosing to not work. wrbtrader
They tend to be more illogical and uninformed. They tend to whine a lot, while calling others snowflakes. But truthfully, I can't say why they: Say they believe in democracy, but want to overthrow an election via lies, Say they believe in democracy, but want to suppress the voice of people regarding canceling past wrongs, or wrong-doers. Believe in Jewish space lasers, Believe in Dems eating babies, Believe in Pizza parlor child sex rings, Believe in Q-anon, Believe in other stupid shit.
Let's start with the North Carolina rules on pandemic unemployment. https://abc11.com/nc-unemployment-in-north-carolina-federal-pandemic-compensation/6090531/ Do I have to search for work while filing for unemployment? If you are out of work as a result of COVID-19, you do not have to conduct a work search while filing for unemployment. Of course we can start spot checking other states such as Wisconsin. For Pandemic Unemployment there is no requirement to search for work. This standard to have no requirement to search for work just was extended in 2021. https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/ui/worksearch/ I heard the work search is no longer waived as of February 7, 2021. Is that true? No. The work search requirement will continue to be waived at this time. We will update you when that changes. Is a claimant required to search for work during the COVID-19 pandemic? As a result of an Emergency Rule you do not need to do a work search at this time. No action is needed on your part regarding the work search. However, some individuals may be required to register with JCW. These are two separate requirements. I think you will find that no states have a requirement to search for work as a part of pandemic unemployment assistance (PUA)
I see you've moved the goal post again. Your signature move. I picked your first cherry-picked state, NC, to respond to: To keep benefits, jobless North Carolinians will soon need to start looking for work MARCH 01, 2021 06:28 PM, UPDATED MARCH 02, 2021 09:42 AM https://www.newsobserver.com/news/p...people in North Carolina, has been in the past. "...Unemployed people in North Carolina are going to have to start proving they’re looking for work if they want to keep getting paid jobless benefits. On Monday, Gov. Roy Cooper issued an executive order that will institute that work search requirement but will also make it more flexible than what it has been in the past. People currently on unemployment won’t be affected; Cooper’s order will only apply to “new claimants who apply for unemployment benefits on or after March 14, 2021.”..."
The whole problem with "looking for work" is that it is an unenforceable sham. When I was getting unemployment 20 years ago in NY, to continue receiving the fed's 2001 unemployment checks from 9/11, all I had to do was call an automated system that asked simple questions... 1. Have you been unemployed for the previous week? If yes, press 1. If no, press 2. 2. Have you been seeking gainful employment for the past week? If yes, press 1. If no, press 2. 3. Will you continue to seek employment for the next week? If yes, press 1. If no, press 2. Thank you. You will receive your next unemployment payment on "Stutter computer voice date read-out." I am sure it is the same today, as it was back then. It is too bad @DiceAreCast put me on ignore, because otherwise he could see me replying to a real thread with a real post with none of my stupid videos in it. His loss, your gain.
