Dr. Fauci says to take vitamin D if you’re deficient — here’s how to know

While Dr. Anthony Fauci admits most “so-called immune boosting” supplements being marketed amid Covid-19 mostly do “nothing,” he does believe in the benefits of vitamin D.

“If you are deficient in vitamin D, that does have an impact on your susceptibility to infection. So I would not mind recommending, and I do it myself taking vitamin D supplements,” Fauci, 79, said during an Instagram Live on Sept. 10.

But figuring out whether you are vitamin D deficient and how much of the supplement you need to take is complicated. In fact, medical professionals have been debating the efficacy of routine vitamin D screenings and supplementation recommendations for years.

“You’re wandering into a maze,” Dr. Clifford Rosen, an endocrinologist and professor of medicine at Tufts University’s School of Medicine, who has studied vitamin D for more than 30 years, tells CNBC Make It.

Here’s what you need to know from three experts...

Just read about this, well, as long as it is " to protect the students health and well being" it's all good. Police blocking the exits and threatening with 1000£ fines if they leave is just a detail. Those students understand what's best of them.
And if they don't, than they sure deserve the frustration as they´re being asocial, right Nine Ender ?

Coronavirus: More than 1 million dead across the world

...That’s four times as many people who died in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, 16 times as many people killed by the common flu in the US last winter, and more than 335 times the number of people who perished in the 9/11 attacks.

But the tragedy of coronavirus isn’t just in the death toll. It’s also in the grim truths it has revealed about who we are and how we treat our most vulnerable.

The pandemic has exposed shocking failures of governance, worsened deep-rooted inequalities in access to healthcare, and inflamed a long-waged war on facts preventing scientists from conveying information that could save lives...

Sad statistics in the graphics below. People seem to have given up and is just crossing their fingers a vaccine will be discovered and then will protest about the safety of the vaccine.

More protests / riots by the anti-vaxxers in the world.

Apples to oranges. You are comparing a country to the whole world using different time frames (4-5 months to 9)

I would like to know how many people die annually due to common flu worldwide, though. Oh wait:

"The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide, annual influenza epidemics result in about 3-5 million cases of severe illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 deaths."

OK, so I am not sure how long the average flu seasons last, but the winter itself is not longer than 5 months, top. Thus if half million people could die in 5 months or less due to flu, 1 million dead due to Covid in 9 months is pretty much the same or only slightly more.

Sure eventually Covid will win, but so far the difference is not huge.

Those stats are available online. Yet, you can simply send the author of the video a message post to get more info if you're unable to find it on your own.

Also, each country / hemisphere has a different length in Flu season.

Regardless, many people like to compare Covid-19 to the Common Flu including President Trump. You and I both know its not like the Flu...the stats do not line up.

Covid-19 has already won against the Flu although not an issue involving many different categories from health, economic, financial, social disparities and so on. Had it been contained that first critical month...
    • We could have then stated that Covid-19 is just like the Flu as in an Epidemic instead of a Pandemic.

Remember, Covid is died testing positive in the last 28days, Flu is they died of Flu, Covid is they died having testing positive so the numbers are inflated, so likely very similar, so yes it's just a bad ish flu.

That's been over hyped by the media and used by the governments to screw us all over.

People who compare covid to flu should keep their precious, arrogant ignorance for themselves.
We are ruled by pathetic politicians who could and should have done better. But outside of politics useless blablabla, they are top level incompetent, what do we expect?
But to say that the damage of this virus on its first wave is similar to a flu is pure ignorance.
The second wave is just starting in parts of the world.
Hopefully it will be comparable to a flu but it's too early to say.

If you cut out the BS number counting, it's comparable to Flu and no where that's have a full 1st wave, has had a 2nd Wave, not the way Virus's work ( Spain ??? not sure there yet, but only 1 ), which means it's Flu, 2015/16 UK Bad Flu killed 35K, Covid not much more.

35K and guess what, barely made the news, nobody cared, 40K with bogus numbers and everyone is scared shitless.

Also most Flu's are Corona virus's, they come around every 4 years the deaths aren't any higher than 4years ago, infact there high average range nothing more.
