Based on your premise... you know if you look at U.S. Death Certificates over the past decades nearly nobody has ever died of the flu... in fact in some years the death certificates appear to show zero deaths from the flu. This is because all the people with flu have respiratory failure or some other primary cause for death listed on the certificate. At best there would be a secondary note they had the flu. Same thing with COVID when it comes to death certificates.
