White House says report on COVID origins could be released next week https://nypost.com/2021/08/23/white-house-report-on-covid-origins-could-be-released-next-week/ The White House on Monday said it’s likely that an unclassified version of the intelligence community’s review of whether the coronavirus pandemic originated in a lab in China could be released as soon as next week. The deadline for the 90-day review to be completed is Tuesday. “I would say that it typically takes a couple of days, if not longer, to put together an unclassified version to present publicly, and obviously the president would be briefed first on any findings. So I don’t have an exact date for you but I would expect it will be several days a couple to several days after tomorrow,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said. She was asked if the report would be released in full or whether it would include redacted material. “I would expect that there would be an unclassified version, and sometimes that means declassification. I can’t assess that at this point in time because tomorrow was 90 days, not last week,” she responded. “And then we certainly would make you all aware of what the outcome is. I don’t know what format that will take at this point in time yet,” Psaki added. President Biden announced the 90-day review in May after an earlier assessment failed to reach a conclusion whether it emerged naturally from animals or escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China. “As of today, the U.S. Intelligence Community has ‘coalesced around two likely scenarios’ but has not reached a definitive conclusion on this question,” Biden said at the announcement. The theory that it was released by the lab had been swirling since the pandemic emerged, but the Chinese government refused to cooperate with investigators. It gained traction in the spring when the Wall Street Journal reported that three employees of the Wuhan Institute of Virology had to be hospitalized with COVID-type symptoms in November 2019. The former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Robert Redfield believes the virus that causes COVID-19 escaped from the lab in Wuhan, China, telling CNN in March that it was his “opinion” that it did not evolve naturally. “I’m of the point of view that I still think the most likely etiology of this pathology in Wuhan was from a laboratory — escaped,” said Redfield, who led the CDC during the height of the pandemic. “Other people don’t believe that. That’s fine. Science will eventually figure it out.”
COVID-19 is most transmissible 2 days before and 3 days after symptoms appear https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/08/210825113649.htm
Assume report says it came from Wuhan lab... This is no longer what will the U.S. do about it. Every fucking country in the world has suffered from sick, dying and lockdowns and economic issues. I want to see the global response if this is the case.
I doubt that will be the case. Bejing Biden is too scared to piss off his overloads in China. It will most likely state that it is inconclusive for political reasons.
I doubt anything conclusive comes of it. Donnie dropped the ball bigly in the early stages (most critical for evidence gathering) by pandering to Gyna trying to clinch that artful deal post beautiful trade war.
The report is out today... see the other thread created for it. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ommunity-divided-on-covid-19s-origins.361181/
Fucking idiots! The morons are going to kill everybody. https://www.wsj.com/articles/resear...19-delta-variant-for-human-trials-11630053797 Researchers Ready Lab-Grown Covid-19 Delta Variant for Human Trials U.K. company is growing the highly contagious variant under tight lab controls for use in challenge studies LONDON—While the rest of the world is trying to stamp out the Covid-19 Delta variant, British researchers are making progress growing a carefully controlled batch in a lab that they hope to use to infect volunteers in studies. The effort marks a new phase in the U.K.’s human challenge trials, the only Covid-19 studies in the world intentionally exposing participants to the virus with the goal of developing new vaccines and treatments. Other researchers are also isolating and growing Covid variant specimens for study. U.S. government-funded scientists are producing variants for research, but not for use in humans, a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases official said. Two Covid challenge trials sponsored by Imperial College London and the University of Oxford started earlier this year in the U.K. They so far have exposed more than 40 healthy, young volunteers under isolated medical supervision to the original Wuhan strain that circulated widely in 2020.
