Dude, I told you to stop messaging me, GWB. Once we get the anal swab thing going, you'll be the first to know and can sign up. And no, we don't have one called "the tickler". Please stop asking.
Oh... do please post the pic of the messages you claim I sent you. BTW -- Photoshop will be your friend. P.S. - it may be wise keep your sordid fantasies off the internet.
As I have discussed before, we have vaccinations against the flu and pneumonia but pneumonia- for example- is still the primary precipitating cause of death in nursing homes. Once a patient becomes severely ill/ aged from some other cause, they cannot fight off the pneumonia even if they have had the vaccine. There is every reason that this will be true for covid vaccine or any other vaccine. You must have at least some level of immune system functioning in your body in order for a person to develop antibodies/t-cells in response to either contracting the virus or being vaccinated. A vaccination gooses your immune system but cannot rebuild one if you are too far gone. So some of this re-infection thing just goes with the turf- especially for the very old. In addition, people forget the basics. The basics are that the trial studies show - for example- that a vaccine may be 80% effective. Then there is a flood of articles on some people who in fact end out getting sick after taking the vaccine. Helloooooooo. Revisit the data. It's like some guy who has data showing that 80% of his trades are successful but then someone is aghast when they find out that he has some losing trades. Hellooooo encore. This is a numbers game where the laws of large numbers apply. Specific individuals may fall outside of that. duh. We can't change human nature though and very soon we will be flooded in the media with stories about people who got vaccinated and still became ill. When in fact the focus of much of the data and studies was based on hospitalizations and deaths.
Excellent chart. I'm sure there are many takeaways. But what I see is how similar the virus has performed across a great many states - regardless of the differences in how those states managed it.
Brazil variant causes Covid reinfections in up to 61%, say scientists The variant is also 1.4 to 2.2 times more transmissible than the normal strain of the virus found in the Amazon basin https://www.standard.co.uk/news/hea...nt-reinfections-natural-immunity-b921810.html The Brazil variant is able to evade “natural immunity” in up to 61 per cent of people who previously had Covid-19 and cause a reinfection, scientists revealed today. The variant, which has been discovered in six Britons, is also 1.4 to 2.2 times more transmissible than the normal strain of the virus found in the Amazon basin. But the results, based on the impact of the variant in Manaus, the Brazilian city where it was first detected in December, may not indicate its potential to spread in the UK. Researchers at Imperial College London, Oxford and the University of Sao Paulo today published a draft of the first genomic and epidemiological study into the Brazil variant known as P1. Lead researcher Dr Nuno Faria, of Imperial, said that in Manaus the variant was able to evade 25 to 61 per cent of antibody protection in people who had previously had the city’s main strain of Covid-19, leaving them susceptible to reinfection with P1. About 25 countries have reported cases of P1. Today it emerged that these include the US, Canada, France, Germany and Spain — countries not on the UK’s red list, from which travel is banned to all but UK residents. In Manaus, the variant grew from zero cases to 87 per cent of cases in eight weeks, causing a second Covid-19 peak between November and January. Responding to the research, Professor Sharon Peacock, director of COG-UK, the UK’s genomics consortium, said the question of how the findings related to the UK was “yet to be determined”. She said: “The majority of [Covid-19] disease in the UK is caused by the B1.1.7 [Kent] variant, which we can vaccinate against using the vaccines we have available at the moment. We should be optimistic and pushing on with that vaccination [programme].” She added: “At the present time, I don’t believe there is any threat to our vaccination strategy or likely effectiveness.” The researchers said the P1 variant appeared to be similarly transmissible to the South African variant also seen in small numbers in the UK. However it was impossible to say at this stage whether P1 was more transmissible than the dominant Kent variant — or whether its ability to evade natural immunity, as seen in Manaus, would also be true for Britons who had acquired natural immunity from the Kent variant. Separate research today from the Office for National Statistics revealed that more than 29 per cent of Londoners would have tested positive for antibodies in the month to mid-February, the highest rate in the country.
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-administration-reportedly-quietly-funded-165519534.html The Trump administration reportedly quietly funded Operation Warp Speed with money set aside for hospitals By late summer last year, Operation Warp Speed accounts were running dry, so the Trump administration appears to have used a financial maneuver allowing Department of Health and Human Services officials to divert $10 billion from a fund meant to help hospitals and health care providers affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Stat News reports. Congress granted the HHS permission to move pandemic-related money between accounts, though the agreement stipulated the agency had to give lawmakers a heads up. In this case, it appears the HHS siphoned the funds quietly, albeit with permission from its top lawyer. Other attorneys told Stat that the agency likely did have the wiggle room to carry out the action. Former Office of Management and Director Russ Vought defended the decision and said "we would do it again," telling Stat that not only did the administration have the authority, it was also "the right thing to do in order to move as quickly as possible because lives were on the line." Other Trump officials seemed to agree, per Stat, arguing that successful vaccines would reduce hospitalizations, making Warp Speed the more consequential outlet. It's still unclear whether the decision has resulted in less money for health care providers, as the Biden administration remains mum on the subject, Stat reports. Read more at Stat News.
So they basically took money designated to be used to purchase PPE for doctors and nurses and moved it over to an undesignated use — most likely leading to deaths and illness of doctors and nurses from COVID.
