There are many studies now showing that COVID-19 antibody immunity only lasts 2 to 8 months after a person recovers from COVID. I have posted numerous articles and medical studies showing this. Feel free to use the search function go back and review the numerous studies.

So it may be rare... since most cases are not documented. Yet the number of reinfections that are documented worldwide are rapidly increasing. WHO and other medical organizations have now issued warning about re-infections -- along with the note the second infection is likely to be worse than the first.

  5. Given the astronomical number of false positives these claims of reinfection can be easily disputed. I want to know exactly how many were truly sick with Covid, all symptoms, recovered and have become truly sick again with all symptoms. Everything else is bullshit.

People who show up at their doctor's or the hospital with re-infections -- have clear symptoms plus tests. To be considered a reinfection their first infection was medically documented as well. These are not just people who drive up for a COVID test at the free clinic and then boasted on Facebook they caught COVID again.

And the people that got tested first, had the worse symptoms and therefore would of built up more antibodies, none of them have reinfected yet, we'll have to wait on people with barely any symptoms or less like me to get tested positive twice with a min of 2 tests to confirm due to false positives.

Mate next door, he's a billy bullshitter so???, pretty sure he had in April, claiming he tested positive just, another mates got similar to him and I've felt rough for a few days chest ache so ??? I had it very early on, another mates had similar to me, tad worse and she's a care home nurse and she'll get tested, interesting to see if she posts positive.

I had it early on and barely, hence not much protection built up, not that it's an issue, didn't kill me first time, likely won't, 2nd, 3rd, maybe 50th when I'm in my 80's but hey I'm in my 80's and likely won't care too much.

  9. "We asked OHA for the statewide total of reinfections, but a spokesperson said they couldn't share that number due to patient privacy."

    Total bullshit.

No patient specific or patient identifying information is being requested or needed when a journalist or the public requests summary level data. Absolutely no HPPA or other regulations preventing that whatsoever. In fact they are required to release it when requested.

Several states in the United States have recently been investigating re-infections and they are in fact working closely with the CDC whom are actually the ones doing the investigations. In my opinion, some may just be flare ups from those that are long haulers.

The only way they can prove re-infection is via genetic testing. Now that we know the U.K. has a new strain of Covid-19...the possibility of re-infection may take a new meaning. Regardless, Covid-19 is still new and scientist are still learning new things about it. In fact, each month of this Pandemic...there as been something new learned that the prior month wasn't consider to factual because it was still being researched.

    South Dakota

My brother is a Doctor in South Dakota and his hospital has seen two of the 28 possible re-infections. Those two people at his hospital made almost a full recovery and went home but then became re-infected within a few months from a new source...the re-infection resulted in being put on a ventilator to contrast their 1st infection that did not result in ventilator or worst.

I wouldn't be surprise if soon we see a site online that shows a map of re-infections.
