I completely agree but South Korea is a small country in comparison to the US. We would need a lot of masks for this to happen. Medical establishment is already short of masks, so unless we can rapidly ramp up production it would be very difficult to implement throughout the entire US population.

Also, from what I've been reading, Trump is considering this option.

You can quite easily produce 'masks' on your own.
    Just tube it...

It won't be that professional, but it will keep your "spit" away from others ..

    I dig a sceptic.
    check this out...

His advice, 1.Don't get this disease. 2.Stay away from hospitals if at all possible.

He is a direct communicator, clear and with a sense of humor in spite of it all.

When we look at the picture of the lung cell, and wait for a "test kit" while the lungs lie vulnerable to lifelong debilitation and a 30K hospital stay with a bunch of other victims. nah, if I find myself in that situation I'll call that phone number, report my reason for calling and my interest in preventing onset of the big dog lung shred phase of the ride, if it looks in the doc's expert opinion to be a possibility, then I will Gladly pay the $20.00 for the simple easy treatment regimen which I have already checked for mg/kg range vs retinal damage which is within the safe range for use up to 9 years, lol, this is a 5 day gig. No Contest. Hell I would even tip 15% because I'm so generous.

    Yep $20.00

Why would anyone wait if they were concerned enough about experiencing actual noBS symptoms of onset that a locally available medical professional has interviewed one for and consulted with this doc and both have reasonable concern enough to offer the $20.00 treatment? I would rather do that than take the "test" anyway. How does that test work? The PCR test reportedly gives false positives. The Chinese tests were reported to be fubar.
The 'latest and greatest' test works ...how? why? when? Here's my hundred, keep the change, lol. done and done, next case, dodge that bullet please.

    it doesn't take a genius.
the doc said that he Did test for some time, then rejected obvious non-affecteds, having dealt with literally tons of patients, could spot obvious victims up front by a rudementary PHONE report of symptoms to an attending local professional as he is disabled and needs to do remote diagnosis.

Knowing the swift bringdown that occurs at day-x from infection which is probably time dependent and immune system condition dependent, if a person were in a critical window of time, why wait for 4 days when this treatment has an optimal window of treatment that can prevent the debilitation of Lung Function that is For Ever.

No Thank You Please, Where do I trade a @20.00 bill so I can shred the ticket on That ride, if I'm prompt enough? Wait 4 days for a test that May be defective too - This is a govt project after all lol.
Would not want to be a deer in the headlights for that ride.

Do the few days of swallowing the meds, go on about my business, done and done.

When Corona started in Europe I was thinking what to do:

    • try to get sick quickly as at that moment there was plenty of capacity in the hospitals to treat me
    • try not to get sick and risk to catch the virus at a moment that there is no capacity anymore in the hospital to treat me
I was too lazy to try to get sick, but for me getting sick quickly was the best option.
You should think like a trader, go against the crowd is almost always the best option. The trend in Corona is it will get worse, so better react quickly.
Just like these criminal US politicians that quickly sold their stocks based on insider trading. They should be banned out of politics for ever.

No, what you show confirms my choice.
In Europe over 70% of people will probably catch the virus.
Better sick at a moment when they can treat you then when there is no place in hospital anymore and they cannot treat you anymore.
I prefer no to hear that they decided, because of lack ofavailable machines, that I should die and someone else will be saved. Especially because it appears to be horrible.

A US man has died and his wife is in critical condition after ingesting a chemical they believed Donald Trump had touted as a cure for coronavirus.
The unnamed couple watched a White House briefing where the US President incorrectly said that malaria drug chloroquine had been proven effective in treating COVID-19.
"Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine. Now, this is a common malaria drug," Mr Trump said.
"The nice part is, it's been around for a long time, so we know that if it—if things don't go as planned, it's not going to kill anybody."

    "Doctor" Trump was WRONG (again).

Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine kills people under certain circumstances too.

so does water, but if taken responsibly as advised by a trained and experienced practitioner, please don't expect me to be shakin in my boots. Healthcare advice from Trump killed them, that's absolutely most certainly a fact and we all expect a vigorous prosecution for double homocide at any moment, lol. Would you take a shovel full of horseapples if nancy shoved it at you? No, of course not because you are not stupid. The Darwin Awards take all shapes and forms. Some take slight details and focus on trivialities of a situation to the neglect of the central point. So it goes. Darwin Abides, lol. You can lead a horse to water but ya can't make him do the backstroke. ards baby, pass. Yep $20.00
