    Thia was on the mainstream news last week end in Spain, the sad part is nobody is going to be burned in town squares for the damage they've done. Schools are having kids wear masks during PE, and even in gyms where people train without a mask, kids are more likely to train with them ( which they should, according to the criminal laws in place atm). Bemusing many child abusers are vilified yet those who push stay at home orders and full time mask wearing on kids are invited to talk shows. They should all be facing serious judicial sanctions.

    This virus is just not deadly enough to have locked down or started mask mandates. It was bad for the elderly and unhealthy perhaps, but to impose these restrictions wholesale was really stupid. Here's how a country with liberty should do it------Inform the people of the risks and then let them live their lives. We are quickly careening into a country without liberty and Leftist politicians are absolutely loving it.

    Even in the elderly and unhealthy, death rates were well below 5 percent.

    Let me dumb this down.
    Politicians love money, period.
    The government's money comes mostly from taxes.
    Political money comes from big business.

    Follow me now.

    If the citizens aren't working due to lock downs ... what does that do to tax revenues?

    If the citizens aren't working due to lock downs ... what does that do to business profits?

    Folks, stop listening to clowns.

    It is not in the financial interests of the government, nor individual politicians generally, to stay locked down.

    Do yourself a favor and stop listening to dummies. Stop listening to Tucker. Stop listening to Fox. Stop listening to ET crackheads.

    Have u noticed how mich money was poured into society from central banks to support the economy during those restrictions ? In Spain politicians actually increased their salary during the covid saga - if memory serves me right.
    Markets went up ( and so my net worth as a passive investor)
    I already posted an article on how many people are satisfied with the lockdown because of a mix of government hand outs and not having to compete with others.
    Besides a lot of people ( large majority over here according to surveys, although I wonder how much of it is due to the way the question is asked and the tendency for responders to follow the mainstream voice) ask for lots of restrictions, so it's quite risky for politicians to not go for those.
    In Madrid we have silly restrictions but lose enforcement, which makes it more bearable and might be a good way to please most. The city seems to have become a magnet for european party seekers lately

    Here in West PA thanks to trumptards, with a little lie anyone can get vaccinated with 2-5 days waiting time. It is getting even better because they are running out of 1a people and the full phase is still 2 weeks away. We also have a choice between Pfizer and J&J. On the other hand Philly screwed it up and they are behind the times.

    So I am getting Pfizer in 2 days...

    I did notice. That was going on for a few years before the pandemic also.

    I didn't read your article, but I'm guessing that the number of people making more from stimmies, than employment, is a non-factor re: making the lockdown desirable to politicians and businesses. I further guess that such employees would be in low income, i.e., low tax bracket, jobs ... not good for governmental budgets.

    Even so, the government is about tax revenue. How did that do during the lockdowns?
    And politicians are about big business. And Big business is about getting paying customers. How did businesses do during the lockdowns.

    The powers that be lose during lockdowns. And when have they ever put the concerns of the little man over money?

    Ted Cruz wasn't worried about the little guy when he was outed re: Cancun. He knows he can put a spin on it and keep moving. He went because he didn't care.

    Don't overthink it. Remember Occam's Razor.

    Provide us links that support the contentions that politicians made more money during the lockdowns than they would have otherwise;
    that big businesses lobbied to continue the lockdowns;
    and that big businesses made more during the lockdowns than they would have otherwise.

    Of course, PPE etc. businesses would make more. So to make a fair comparison, we have to consider businesses that don't organically benefit from a lockdown ... which is most businesses.

    Ujerk, this is one of the most stupid analyses that I have ever seen. Politicians don't care if money is coming in. They just borrow it,steal it, or create it if they need to. They are definitely interested in money but just as much or more, they are interested in power and controlling you. This is the way it has been throughout time. Get right.
