Glad it was a mild experience and u now seem OK. It appears to be the case for most middle aged folks, tougher on the bigger ones afaik ( some had it quite bad, the one I know(indirectly) who had it worst was using nasty PEDs). Yet a few u wouldn't expect go through hell/die, although unfortunately this kind of sad turn of events happened also before covid.
About those who are having a surprisingly tough time recovering from covid, check Khamzat Chimaev, a rising UFC star, who had to postpone twice already his fight with Leon Edwards ( not 100% convinced the issue is covid and not the perspective to fight Edwards)

Lol, yeah, the terraces were full this week end around here, sunny weather and 15/16°C in the shade. No wonder canadians don't miss the bar terraces in winter...
We got Lapland style snow this early january though, first time in 50 years, it was great for the kids who were having yet another school holiday messed up by covid restrictions.

Madrid is still gar from Florida where they set up sporting events with public and no mask mandate but sure better than lots of western locked down hellholes atm.
I sure hate the mask mandate, went to stroll downtown for the first time in months ( went there seldom before the lockdown anyway) and it s pretty ugly with all those people hiding over half their face. Didn't stay very long.
At least restaurants and gyms I go don t require masks, but it would be good if they gave up the mandate altogether ( Spain is the country in Europe where it s the most respected according to recent studies. It seems a lot of people are actually following a bunch of silly restrictions which are gross violations of individual freedoms plus very loosely enforced, and the mayor is asking the population to call the cops on their neighbours if they hear a whiff of a party. So still quite a disgusting society although it s worse all around Madrid).
Might be a while until we can fly , at least without face covering and a negative pcr test.
Face covering in several places in Europe were banned on women because (among other reasons) they were deemed humiliating for them, but now they are compulsory for all, go figure.

J&J vaccine approved, they will supply in March enough for 8% of US adult population. That is additional the already ongoing vaccination efforts.

As I said earlier, by the summer we will have herd immunity.

I've been seeing more pregnant women lately in grocery stores and pharmacies than prior to the Pandemic...

People have been busy doing a lot of things during the Pandemic. :D

Last time I saw something like that here in Québec was Nov - Dec of 2008 about 7 - 9 months after the historic winter of 2007 - 2008.....

The year the snow fall and snow storms so heavy...I could walk across the snow in my backyard...onto the roof of my shed and the year we built a mini snowboard race course on my property...it wasn't good but it gave the kids a lot of fun building it.

I'm so thankful I don't live in Spain. Much more civilized in Canada. Visited Spain twice it was like going back in time 30-40 years. Spaniards are so motivated they take a two hour Siesta every day. Not lying when I said returning to Toronto from parts of Europe makes you appreciate everything we have here.

A friend of my youngest is the starting corner on the varsity team. Two teammates tested positive this week and contact tracing has shown it's likely responsible (chronologically) for 8 cases and one hospitalization. Dudes, we're probably going to get close to 700K deaths. Nearly half a percent of our population, mostly seniors, dead to COVID. I hate Seniors as much as the next guy, but c'mon. We would be at 2-3MM had they not initiated lockdowns and mask wearing. You ugly mugs should be thrilled with masks.

Look at Miami and tell me about lockdowns.

FALSE. We would have reached herd immunity much quicker than Dec 20,2020 had we skipped the devastating lockdowns and mask wearing.
