Well, thank you, yes, my google fu is pretty good. Not to mention I am from a country where babies get the shot and quite early scientist noticed the difference. No, it is NOT anecdotal, click on the first link provided. Scientific paper. Now here I am going to argue against the theory: https://www.who.int/news-room/comme...almette-guérin-(bcg)-vaccination-and-covid-19 To refute this, this was the WHO's opinion and honestly, fuck the WHO, I don't take anything seriously what they say anymore. Second this was back in April and by now there should be a result of those 2 mentioned studies. (see the bottom of this post) Now one thing that makes the picture more complicated is that there are different strains of BCG, IIRC the Russian (for East Europe), Chinese, Latin American, etc. It is entirely possible that all those BCG strains are not equal and one is better at protecting than the others. This article is only 2 weeks old and yes, it backs the theory: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-07-preliminary-tuberculosis-vaccine-limiting-covid-.html " we found that countries with high rates of BCG vaccinations had lower rates of mortality," " Oh wait, here comes the Germany again: "One sample that stood out was Germany, which had different vaccine plans prior to the country's unification in 1990. While West Germany provided BCG vaccines to infants from 1961 to 1998, East Germany started their BCG vaccinations a decade earlier, but stopped in 1975. This means that older Germans—the population most at risk from COVID-19—in the country's eastern states would have more protection from the current pandemic than their peers in western German states. Recent data shows this to be the case: western German states have experienced mortality rates that are 2.9 times higher than those in eastern Germany."
Was gonna say, Latin America has oddball vaccination programs and likely still getting the BCG vaccine but getting hit fairly hard
There could be serious issues with supply, thus it is understandable if the WHO lies about it. (but not acceptable) Currently about 150 MM children are vaccinated with BCG annually. Now imagine if suddenly the demand is going up by 10 fold. A flooding accident caused supply issues a few years ago. The point is, the world is not ready to ramp up the vaccine 10 fold in a short amount of time. (not to mention world population is 50 fold of the current shots) More info about the strains: "The BCG vaccine can be anywhere from 0 to 80% effective in preventing tuberculosis for a duration of 15 years; however, its protective effect appears to vary according to geography and the lab in which the vaccine strain was grown. A number of different companies make BCG, sometimes using different genetic strains of the bacterium. This may result in different product characteristics. OncoTICE, used for bladder instillation for bladder cancer, was developed by Organon Laboratories (since acquired by Schering-Plough, and in turn acquired by Merck & Co.). Pacis BCG, made from the Montréal (Institut Armand-Frappier) strain,[74] was first marketed by Urocor in about 2002. Urocor was since acquired by Dianon Systems. Evans Vaccines (a subsidiary of PowderJect Pharmaceuticals). Statens Serum Institut in Denmark markets BCG vaccine prepared using Danish strain 1331.[75] Japan BCG Laboratory markets its vaccine, based on the Tokyo 172 substrain of Pasteur BCG, in 50 countries worldwide."
Interesting video... the pandemic is surging exponentially and is getting much worse, especially California Texas and Florida. Anyone who denies the seriousness of this situation is hard for me to understand.... watch the news
The Wuhan 19 pandemic has been over for several months. Numbers are not growing exponentially and deaths are not either. In fact, they are lessening their increase.---Gummint response however is not over.
And there is nothing you can do to stop it, that you can afford that doesn't kill 10x's the people that are dying from the virus, it's just 1 of those things, shit happens don't let the shit ruin everyones lives for the next 30years, it's killing very few and mainly 85+ year olds who have had pretty full lives. Yes Lockdowns kill more people short term than the virus and long term from the global depression, 100x's more expected.
Certain areas are increasing where the lockdown at great expense and waste of life delayed it for a while, but the areas where the lockdown was too late, ie NYC it's over for them. If the media would of shut the fuck up, this hole virus would of went un noticed, we'd of thought few more flu deaths for a few weeks and that's it and wouldn't be in a global depression which will kill 1+ Bil I estimate of the next 10years.
I don't think you got my point. Berlin was a split city during the cold war. The 2/3 of the city's population that was West Berlin wouldn't have received the BGG shot, they were part of West Germany. East Berlin was about the population of the other cities you mentioned. So if the shot made Berlin safer it would only have made 1/3 of modern day Berlin safer. Since the former West Berlin is about twice as big as the other cities you mentioned those West Berliners without the shot should have gotten COVID at the same rate at the other former West Germany cities and thus Berlin would have twice the number of infections as those cities. Of course assuming nobody moved since 1989! More likely is the fact that the former East Germany just isn't as nearly densely populated as the former West and public transportation links between and inside cities aren't nearly as extensive. Not as exciting as a link to an old vaccine though, I know.
Dr. Fauci defined anecdotal as any information or results that are not done through a controlled trials.
