Comey got smacked on the knuckles by Horowitz. Ok. There was some tough words but no teeth. How do they say out west? All hat no cattle in this so called Comey report.

Got to say though, where was Comey going to turn with his concerns about Trump? Not Sessions.

Anyway, Comey got reprimanded in his personnel review. Bad boy for going to the public yada yada yada. I expect lots of crying from our right wing clowns. Lock him up, etc. Yawn.

    Next.

  5. Yup. Not good to see people skate.

Comey had better hope though that Durham and Barr are not on his arse for the FISA stuff though, because if they do have a will to prosecute him, then they will have set themselves up beautiful to counter charges that they are witch-hunting him. Witch-hunting involves a zeal to prosecute on every charge you can find or fabricate or entrap people in to. Letting Comey off increases Barr's legitimacy if he decides to proceed with another charge. If he just lets him off on everything, well then I will not pretend that I can pretty that up. If he is playing the long game he is doing it with perfection though, and I am not alleging that he is. Just that it is something for Comey to worry about.

Just to open my kimono and create an opportunity for future ridicule I will comment on McCabe:

Regular viewers know that for years I have alleged that McCabe will eventually be indicted (not sure he can be successfully prosecuted in DC, but that is another matter). Just to be upfront, I will say that my view on that changed during the last couple months or at least it went into the "I dunno" category. But now I am back to thinking that he will be indicted. The atmospherics surrounding him are still not good, and his legal team recently met with the Deputy Attorney General. They obviously are trying to reverse something that has been decided at a lower level.

I am not going to get into the full discussion right now, but I will just say that this will be or would be a bad development for Comey too. Comey knows that McCabe defends himself by countering Comey's testimony. Comey also knows that if McCabe is indicted he will enter into a plea deal to provide more evidence and testimony on others in exchange for the deal.

I dont know, just sayin - that is where I am at on this. The next step I watch for is whether they indict McCabe. If they dont indict him, well then there is no long game going on and any points that I put up on the board for Barr, I take down. Works both ways though. He could do well and pick up some more points.

The IG's report thoroughly trashed Comey though. That is to say, he will soon be a contributor on MSNBC. I hope it works out like it is for McCabe though. Hired one month, indicted two months later. Twill be fun to see McCabe on the TV during that period if it goes that way.

Comey has been officially stripped of his sainthood. Just staying out of jail is a rather low bar that he has met, so far. Never good when you are the FBI Director and the department's own independent inspector says you "set a dangerous example" for the FBI. Nope, that ain;t prison time, but that is not sainthood either. His days of walking on water are over.

And exactly what does McCabe need to defend himself from?
