Countdown to Horowitz beginning

  1. Yep, I saw that yesterday and speculated that it was probably James Baker because he has been accused of the same leaking and I was not aware that Strzok had been promoted to Deputy Assistant Director but this letter confirms that he had been. So probably it is Strzok with Baker a possibility too. Baker was Comey chief counsel, and Strzok was the chief counterintelligence officer, but administratively they have different titles such as deputy assistant directors, so it gets confusing. Strzok reported to Bruce Ohr but then he went over with Mueller and then when Mueller dumped him after his Lisa texts came out he came back to the doj but was assigned to work in personnel. So you need to put a bear collar on them to follow them around. It is probably Strzok but Baker is also in the penalty box awaiting the same treatment for the same leaking. Not to be confused with McCabes and Comey's leaking.

  3. As discussed, the lefties and Nadler and company will find that the republicans want to talk to Mueller more than they do.

Go for it. Bring him it.

They also run the serious risk now that Barr will unload the Horowitz report on to them right before Mueller testifies so that the republicans can work him over on why he did not look at the origins of the dossier and everything that led to his appointment. The lefties will argue that Horowitz- not Barr- controls when the report will be released. Ahhh okay. giggle. But no. The AG gets to review it before it goes public and he signals Horowitz when that is done. There are reports that he has it already, which I cannot verify but it was supposed to be done in the May-June timeframe and we are sort of there, eh? Especially since Nadler is threatening to subpoena him in two weeks which will mean that the Horowitz report process will be two weeks further along. I am just saying it is close enough so that Nadler needs to be careful about having Mueller show up for lots of reasons and if the Horowitz report comes out, it will be lots of reasons on steroids. Plenty to talk to Mueller about.

  4. So, here we have rumblings that the Horowitz report could or will be delayed because some of the hold-outs have flipped and so they need to be milked. Well, you know, that could be a good thing too, although it delays popcorn time and no one likes that.

Both Steele and Baker have come into the process in the last week, both having previously refused to cooperate with Horowitz until now.

Baker, as you will recall, was Comey's chief legal counsel and he was involved in the all the FISA warrants and knows who else was how they go there. Baker is also the one who told Congress in a closed session hearing that he concluded and he told Comey that in his opinion Hillary had violated the Espionage Act. This contrasts with Comey's news conference announcing that he was letting Hillary off the hook where he said "that no reasonable prosecutor would have recommended prosecution of her" - when in fact the FBI's chief counsel had done exactly that.

So Steele has flipped or will be giving up more info than he wanted and ditto for Baker. Now we are getting somewhere. Baker thought that he could avoid having to speak to Horowitz simply by resigning and leaving the department so that he was beyond the jurisdiction of Horowitz, and Steele believed that he could just flee to Britain. Clearly, Mr. Durham has given both of them a reason why they want to be able to show that they have fully cooperated with EVERYONE in the department.

  10. “These documents show that Fusion GPS and Clinton spy Christopher Steele had a close relationship with the Obama State Department,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The State Department under John Kerry is emerging as another center of the Spygate conspiracy against President Trump.”

    Indeed.
