Former Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards is hoping to use right wing pundit Ann Coulter's use of the word "faggot" in remarks about him to raise "Coulter cash." The incident at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference has sparked a flurry of criticism. In a mass email sent to supporters today, Edwards Campaign Manager David Bonoir argued that "this is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us" and set a fundraising goal of $100,000 this week. The email, in its entirety, follows: Dear [Supporter], Did you hear about Anne Coulter's speech this afternoon attacking John? A friend just forwarded me the video and it's one of the worst moments in American politics I've seen. I can't bring myself to even repeat her comments. I don't see either party as wearing halos. There is no such thing as "all my left wing progressives" so you can let go of that delusion. The situation is, and has been for quite some time, the evil of two lessors. I opt for the lessor of the two, which right now is the party that opposes the war in Iraq.
