This thing just formed in guatemala city. The depth has not been measured yet, but its possible its more than 1000 feet deep. This sinkhole swallowed a building and nothing is visible from the surface. As you can see, thats not only a building that vanished, but a whole hell of a lot of dirt. There must have been an absolutely huge cave way down there for all that dirt and the building to go. Kind of makes you wonder if any one of us could just be sitting at home and then all of a sudden, your whole house just starts falling like it was dropped out of the sky. For every 1,000 foot drop, thats a good 7 to 8 seconds of free fall. Kinda makes me want to re-read "Journey to the Center of the Earth"
