Yeah, unfortunately the drones that were buzzing at Gatwick Airport are industrial type ones which moved away v quickly. No time to bring em down.

Anyway 2 people have been arrested. Probably Russian.

Russians are the biggest thread for the Western world. The Western World is annoying Putin in his criminal activities and he and his friends "lost" already billions (Magnitsky Act). https://news.yahoo.com/bill-browder-putin-biggest-foreign-184345824.html?guccounter=1
Putin will do everything he can to make problems. When I was last time in Russia, Russians confirmed me that Putin would be very happy with a Brexit, as it would weaken the West. There are constant Russian activities to destabilize the West (Litvinenko, Skripal, Vladimir Kara). In France they used fake accounts to stimulate the protest of the Yellow hesjes. A few hundred accounts were closed by Facebook.

I'm not too concerned with Russia. Totally overestimated bunch of dumbo thugs. I'm sure we have already retaliated over the Skripal incident. The USA and UK are the biggest players in the global cyberwarfare arena....

I am afraid you are wrong. Putin was a KGB agent and uses tactics you never ever heard about. A lot of opponents of Putin end too early on the graveyards.
If Russians can just come to the UK and kill people they don't like, and just walk away with that, it shows they are the boss, not the UK. Russians will do what they wish in any other country. And they will always get away with it.

Putin will be happy with your quote:"The USA and UK are the biggest players in the global cyberwarfare arena...."
Giving your opponents the impression they control everything is the best position to be in.
Never underestimate your enemy. And that's exactly what you don't do. You overestimate your side.
Putin invaded Crimea and nobody did anything about it. The West fell asleep and lowered their guard. Putin took advantage of it.

Unless you hold e.g. the rank of general or higher in a military unit which has responsibility for electronic warfare, you're not qualified to make that assessment.

Now there is a slim possibility that you are so qualified, but if it is mere opinion grounded in media propaganda and jingoism, then what value does it add to any discussion?

Well, they didn't get away with it. The West threw out loads of Russian diplomats aka spies and tightened up sanctions. That was public news.

However, the head of the SIS in the UK said there would be retaliation but of course did not specify what. I'm sure they have done something but it is not public news.

I hope you are right as we should stop these things, if necessary the armed way.
    Same with Chinese hacking.
