You put words in my mouth. I never stated my stance on this. I stated that musk’s absolute free speech is not actually absolute. Thus he’s a hypocrite.

musk is the one stating he’s for absolute free speech and then banning some people for exercising it. He’s not banning right wing people (except for Alex Jones) or racist posts. But he banned a guy for sharing the location of his private jet. If you look around, those who claim “free speech” are just as willing to deny it to others as those who see the nuances of real life.

Secondly, you set up an unreasonable standard. You are supportive of US citizens making death threats towards the president. Or intentionally spreading libel. Or lying under oath in a courthouse.

Thirdly, your real motives have come out. This isn’t actually about free speech. It’s about politics. “Screw the libtards!”

I have no idea what you are rambling about. You're giving NO examples in each of your finger-pointings:

"Musks free speech is not free speech" - opinion
"banned guy for sharing location of jet" - opninon (name the guy by name and where Musk specifically said that's why he was bannned- evidence, please) - again opinion
"racists posts" - specific examples, please - opinion
"supportive of U.S. citizens making deaths threats" - and I said this this when? - opinion - you're all over the map, dude
"lying in a courthouse" - no idea what you're talking about, who?

Everything you're saying "op ed," fact-free, which you can do, exercise your free speech. Have at it. You're just jacked up on emotional, and honestly sound very irrational, all over the map.

I don't care that you have an opinion and you don't have to care about mine, so this is just a waste of time.

Good luck and have a great day.

Are you not reading the news? these have been headline stories for weeks. Look them up. just because you are (willfully) ignorant doesn’t make a fact an opinion.

Here’s a place to get you started since you are interested in learning: “Elonjet”

Let's drop it. I don't care if someone is insulting a politician, or visa-vesra, or people are saying tit-for-tat on Twitter, or social media, it's all just gossipy chit-chat. None of it effects my trading. It's not really worth all this back and forth.

You never gave specific examples. If these stories are everywhere, it's easy enough to include a link to one. Telling someone to "look it up" is intellectually lazy. Just let it go.

There's no interesting dialogue here, just "he said, she said, go look this up, look at that, name-call, name call" - there's no point. You have your views, great, enjoy them. I'm interested in business, not "ooo, gotcha', see?" or any of that. It feels like a hen party. Let's move on.

Despite our differences, I wish you a very Happy Holiday season for you and your family. Cheers.

You were against name calling a few posts ago. Now you are okay with it?

here’s a link. I googled elonjet. Only a million articles came up:
    https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/12/14/tech/elonjet-twitter-suspended/index.html

Seriously. You are being obtuse here. Elon’s Twitter debacle is all over the news wires.

I wish you happy new year as well.

seriously read the news flow on this topic. It will make you go hmmm… it might change your opinion of musk the narcissistic person (maybe not musk the visionary).

It really has been all over the news.

"The @ElonJet account, run by Jack Sweeney, a 20-year-old Florida college student, used publicly available flight tracking information to build a Twitter bot that tweeted every time Musk's Gulfstream took off and landed at an airport..."

In better news, Elon unbanned the account a few days later. I won't link that news to you, because that would mean I am promoting your intellectual laziness.

Just read your link, to the CNN story. I don't see a "smoking gun" of any sort.

Musk explained the reason for taking the account down as a "security risk." It's an understandable concern for the richest man in the world to have. Not unreasonable at all, he owns the company. If a law was broken by doing so, the 20-year old can sue civilly. If he doesn't sue, then there's no case, all is legal, especially if no attorney would take such a high profile case pro bono. It's all probably right there in the "Terms & Conditions" the 20-year old bot guy agreed to at the jump, so I don't see an issue if Musk was within his rights to do so.

You're immediately assuming Musk did it to be mean. I don't think the bot guy did it to be nice. Musk may have intel and legitimate security concerns based on threats deemed real by his security staff. There may have been an increase in threats and whack jobs showing up at airports that the security team wants to reduce. To make their job easier, his security staff may have asked him to shut the account down. You and I don't know, so we can't simply assume anything other than what we know, that the richest man in the world told us it was a security risk. If you have facts that disprove that, please share them, otherwise his motive stands as what he said it is, and is within his rights.

Knowing people in the intel world (FBI, CIA, Bomb Squad and Explosives Detectives, including those involved in the 9/11 investigation), the underlying details would never be made public, as it could be part of an ongoing investigation.

I still don't see any value to going on about this. You gave me something, I checked it, neither one of us has changed our view. I think putting this "dog chasing tail" exercise to bed is a worthy endeavor.

    Happy Holidays!

I am not saying any of what you think I am.

Musk believes in absolute free speech. He bought Twitter knowing this account was on it. He then banned this guys account out of “safety.” While it is within musk’s right to do it, it is hypocritical to say “I believe in free speech, but this speech is banned.” You literally argued this point earlier when you blamed liberals for doing it.

    Don’t you see the hypocrisy?
Or would it have to have been George Soros buying Twitter for you to see it?

I've been consistent, I don't support censorship of 1st Ammendment Rights for anyone. Since Twitter is a business, there is likely a violation of the "Terms & Conditions" that this user violated, for which his account was blocked. If he violated it knowingly, it's his own fault. If he did not, he can sue, but since he hasn't, the former is more likely the case.

Those are the mechanics of the case, no more complex than that. He either did or did not violate existing policy regarding Twitter, or he can sue. Making other comparisons to mix and match stories serves no value. Each case on its' merits, since no cicil "class action" case is being presented anywhere, which means everyone has acted in accordance to standing agreements.

Musk believes in absolute free speech meaning that any terms of service that allowed the company to ban some like trump was wrong. he then bought Twitter and started banning some people while unbanning others. That’s the hypocrisy. He said one thing and did another.

this is what schiff had pointed out and then musk called him a name. Which incidentally you said was wrong (when someone did it to musk) but then said it was okay when musk did it to schiff.

you have acknowledged the censorship when you made it about conservatives vs liberal.
