I believe it does. Notice that the carrying fees are listed under the "FX E-mini and E-micro Products" header.
It is like a blast of light from the heavens. The sudden realization, the revelation about what the hell is. Just don't worry about it. Stop trying to nickel-and-dime your way to saving money. Make up your costs by trading. Don't WORRY about what the hell anything costs, because you are talking about pennies. Meanwhile, your tics are worth $12.5 per. Worry about THAT, and not the piddly commish or whatever. Sheesh!
With a small account if your any kind of an 'active trader' you will have to pull of a miracle and make %100 in profits ... just to break even! This is a large reason for the dismal success rate of day traders, because if they understood the math of it, or listened to the pros to start with they would not be actively trading futures until they had adequate capital. That is if they planned on making it a life time income instead of going casino mode and blowing up. If your cost of trading is much more than 2% of your capital your walking into a mine field. Nothing wrong with going casino mode if you choose to - But if you trade for a life long income better have some capital and do some math because your competitors certainly have.
Are you using IB's tiered pricing structure? If not then they don't charge you for holding a position overnight: "Our transparent Fixed pricing for futures in US markets includes our low broker commission plus exchange, regulatory and clearing fees. You are not charged a carrying fee for positions held overnight"
Really? You are using tiered commission structure while trading 1 contract at a time? How much do you pay for the ES round turn?
I think around 3.70 to 4$ range. I mainly trade stocks and scalp some times. Fixed charge $1 for 200 shares, but I pay like 0.17-0.23 Cents for 100 Shares scalp, it saved me a lot over time. I used Options house as my first broker when i started trading and thought they are the cheapest one, I paid $9400 in Commissions for 3 months of trade, where as in IB for 2 Months i just paid around $4K ish with lot lot lot more trades compared to options house.
You only pay the fee for the buy and sell. With IB, it is $2.03 for the buy/sell so you're looking at a total of $4.06 in commissions ($2.03 when you buy your contract and $2.03 when you sell). It's the same if you are in a short position. No interest expenses. That is what I pay up here in Canada on my Interactive Brokers account when I trade the e-mini S&P, but this fee may be more or likely less for you if you are in the US.
Don't understand why futures traders would choose IB, much better rates with good service to be had elsewhere.
