It is a bullshit position... a HR officer already working for the company can simply take on whatever duties it entails which is simply ensuring there is a welcoming/inclusive environment. As long as everybody simply follows the normal rules found in any employee handbook, should not be a problem. However it is an important role because it reduces liability risks of a company to make sure some idiot does not harass an employee and open the company up to a lawsuit.
