I would guess that surgeons wear masks precisely because of the possibility of asymptomatic transmission of anything, viral or bacterial (assuming they stay home when they have symptoms).

Well let's just think about this logically, Mr. Spock.

If there have been 33 million cases, many of which were people who somehow got the test while being asymptomatic, then it follows that a whole lot more people who were asymptomatic were not tested. This makes them superspreaders, because they are running around without a mask. That's the reason for wearing the mask.

We don't need to lock down. Just wear the mask.

Wear the mask. WEAR THE MASK!

Why is this so difficult for everyone on this fucking planet to understand? Just wear the mask, and be done with it!

Quit yer' bitchin, don the mask, and it will all be over before you know it.

I think lockdowns probably still have a limited use. I recently returned to Calgary from a trip to a few places in the US. The government expected me to lock myself down for 14 days, and I did. Of course hotspots would be another place.

    Fer God's sake...WHY???

Just wear the mask and live your life! Ever hear anyone cough or sneeze in a store? Did they have a mask on? Great! So if YOU have a mask on, double-layered protection!

But what if their sneeze was caused by dust in their nose, from wearing the mask all day?!?

It doesn't MATTER! Just wear the mask and you don't HAVE to worry about being isolated for 2 weeks!

It's simple, really. Masks are not 100%, and if it turns out I'm infected then there's a LOT less contact tracing to do.

I made it through those 14 days WITH GOD'S HELP OMG!!!1! (And this forum.)

Did you get tested to assure you were positive? Did you retest after the 14 days to assure you are not contagious? There's so much fail in gubment policy sometimes.

Actually, the local clinic would not test me until after the 14 days. I assume they are rationing tests. They were shocked I even came in, so I should have read up on the policy before I came back.

Your local government gets the horn.

This is one of the dumbest things you've posted on here. Estimated 40% of spread is in this category. If you want "proof" there is plenty out there. For example, in Hamilton 70 cases were traced to a spin studio where patient zero had no symptoms at all.

    Link please...
40 percent maybe asymptomatic. Few if any cases ever have been traced to someone who had no symptoms...when I did a search at that time.
