If you truly are a trader then I hope your trading style is different than your argumentation style. You are on a loser here and you can't seem to let go. How many accounts have you blown up?
Even a .6% death rate is high for what is now and endemic disease that will have annual resurgences regardless of vaccines. Further, the impact of the 14 to 15% of severe, long term Covid outcomes will be even more impactful on our society going forward. Realy, there are three choices: Lockdown, PPE and other safe practicess, or full Covid impact. Lockdown will not be successful, even including boder shutdowns in all countries now that Covid is endemic and that large groups of people will absolutely not commit to a lockdown. The cost of a full Covid impact is too high in economic and human terms. Unemployment and crime cause death and long term injury, too. This leaves the third choice remaining: PPE and safe practices. Although many will not commit to adhering to Covid best practices, this is where sanctions and the enforcement of those sanctions should be imposed. A Covid PPE and safe practices mandate could be along the lines of: “If you are out in public, without sufficient and properly deployed PPE, during an announced pandemic emergency, and within six feet of a person, other mammal, or avian, you are in violation of this mandate”. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a mature government and constituency response regarding future Covid policy.
That all you got? You might as well as lay down and die on this issue if you are not going to bother challenging my supported position.
There was no data that gave you an accurate range to narrow it down to .1%. That data doesn’t exist to this day. There’s plenty of asymptomatic and people with minor symptoms who aren’t getting tested. There are models, but all of the ones I’ve seen have estimates multiples apart from the upper to the lower bounds.
Obviously there was enough data to come up with a decent number doing nothing but statistical inference. To be honest, I am surprised my call was as good as it was, but I knew the death rate was no where near the elevated number the media was reporting.
So as new data comes in we still have the stellar call by Wildchild. Using data to make predictions to make huge profits is what I do. "Fauci and other public health experts have since put the COVID-19 death rate at about 0.6% -- six times that of a typical flu season -- which is the latest CDC projection."
Wildchild, you thought Rocky Balboa was a real boxer. Now you are scraping the barrel with this I ain't dumb, I is smart routine. "Huh?" @Clubber Lang is a fictional boxer as well.
