Corona death rate in US worse than Iran's

To each his own, my concern is that there are a lot of anecdotal reports and rumors floating around Covid that can dangerous and unduly cause people fear.

People in Iran are drinking weird shit and killing themselves. We had some guy kill himself because he thought fish tank cleaner would prevent Covid. The point is social media has made it impossible to control this stuff and there are people are so afraid that they will grab on to these unscientific rumors as gospel.

We’ll figure it out and hopefully soon but in the mean time it’s important to give the doctors and scientists room to move and slow the spread. Part of that includes some degree of personal responsibility and not share this stuff as fact.

No. We are looking at 5 to 10x multiplier, not 100x. The curve will not flatten until 1. We hit peak infection or 2. We have widespread testing that includes seemingly healthy people of approximately one to two million people a week.

We will clear the lower end of your mortality guess by probably Monday or Tuesday and Covid is only getting started here.

the ibuprofen rumor was a chain email likely started by tylenol scalpers that boomers swallowed like gullible idiots. It's been debunked.

This isn’t telling people to take some bogus cure all. It’s simply advising to switch well known pain killer, fever reducers until the science is settled.

It’s enough for the UK to issue a warning.

But please continue your anti-Trump anti-conservative rants, your hatred has jaded your sense of reality to the point you’re a danger to yourselves.

    What should I do?
Patients who have confirmed COVID-19, or believe they have COVID-19, should take paracetamol in preference to ibuprofen.

Those currently advised to use ibuprofen by their healthcare professional should not stop using them.

There is some debate suggesting NSAIDs may increase complications from simple acute respiratory infections or slow recovery. The product information of many NSAIDs already contains warnings that their anti-inflammatory effects may hide the symptoms of a worsening infection. However the evidence is not conclusive.

In view of the current lack of research the Commission on Human Medicines (an expert advisory body of MHRA) and NICE have been asked to review the evidence.

No, the pre-eminent medical agencies are saying continue taking ibuprofen if it's what's been prescribed. They're saying take paracetamol instead since you only need to treat fever & not inflammation

from your link & like I said, boomers falling for the dumbest shit:

We are aware there has been concern spreading about the use of ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) in relation to COVID-19.

However, there is currently no research into ibuprofen and the new coronavirus. This includes:

    • the link between ibuprofen and the likelihood of contracting the virus
    • the link between ibuprofen and the worsening of coronavirus symptoms

If there’s nothing wrong with Ibuprofen and it reduces fever as well, why switch?

Please. I’m not promoting Dr. Fester’s Miracle Supertonic, just simple precautionary advice.

If your doctor’s prescribed ibuprofen, yes take it. This conversation revolves around using ibuprofen for Covid-19 symptoms. In that context it might be prudent to use Tylenol instead of Advil.

  9. Hopefully you will still be able to take your anti-psychotic meds while recovering from corona. I mean the docs have enough to deal with as it is.

Look don’t take Advil if that’s what you want to do. This isn’t an anti trump rant, it’s more of commentary of beware of anecdotal evidence because as this stuff builds up it can undermine the legitimate research and findings.

Also, advising people to take Tylenol or some other pain reliever in place of ibuprofen is not responsible because we don’t know the effectiveness or safety of those drugs when someone is infected with Covid.
