You have a point here. I certainly would love to trade in the morning, but... see no Asian market which would suit my needs. Facts are facts: US markets are still the "it" of the financial world, the rest being secondary stuff. So while I probably would feel much better had I woke up, drank some coffee and traded in the morning, there's not much of a choice really if you want something scalable and moving. But having said it, trading income is still my main source of income. Simply it's enough to trade a couple hours usually... when the market is liquid.
Hahaha.... no worries R. If anyone doubts what I do is real my wager offer is always here. But so far nobody has the courage to back his words with the deeds, I wonder why... P. S. Three reasons for trading just 1st hours really: 1) The best action is opening and close, but close is around 3AM my time and I value my normal biological rhythm high. 2) Comes from the 1st... Too late for me to trade the rest of US RTH. When I move somewhere closer to the West things well may change. 3) I am often busy during the day time lately for family reasons, which are none of anybody's business except my friends who like you know those issues.
Yeah, I try to get in a few none trading days per month (not counting holidays or vacations) to re-energize. I'm just not young and single anymore with endless energy like I was early in my trading. In addition, I make it mandatory to take several time-outs from trading each trading day but not on a schedule. Simply, if I feel like taking a hour break beginning at 10am est...I do it. The next day if I feel like taking a 2 hours break beginning at 12pm est...I do it. This fits very well with my family's schedule and my own personal activities. Yet, I had notice your statements were consistently within a 2 hour duration around the same time period. I was curious about the reason for such and if it was due to family reasons, job or something else. Also, I was curious to your trading results of those 2 hours versus your trading results when you traded the entire regular trading session of Emini NQ in the past ???
I see. All that makes perfect sense to me. Unfortunately in it's current shape this strategy doesn't have many trades and a missed day can happen to be a missed month. If/when I have more trades in NQ will certainly treat it easier too. I didn't trade NQ full time in the past, for a few years I traded Euro for 9-10 hours a day, those years coincided with great volatility so it's hard to compare those results to now. As for NQ I always traded it within that 2-3 hours window and results were pretty satisfying. Trades posted in this thread are those I only take since going public (public calls since February and OPM since April), accordingly strategy was tightened up quite seriously. Probably playing too tight, but the point was to keep just almost ideally objective setups to minimize emotional factor as much as possible. I believe you also experienced emotional issues when just started your public trading. Must be a common pattern. It's an interesting challenge actually, I've never traded that objectively before and now looking for an optimal balance of not too loose and not too tight to have more trades, but remain within reliable and comfortable trading zone as well.
What are the results so far for TA? My calculations still show negative. Am I including everything? surf
