Copying programs+docs between computers

  1. I tried several times to export my Netscape 7.x -based emails (more than 2 Gb) from one PC to another using the Profiles and the instructions to export the mailboxes:

    http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/Netscape/Netscape7/netscape7.html
    http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns7pctopc.html
    http://www.ufaq.org/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=280

    However this does not work.

    - Is there any utility able to copy the software, registry, etc and all the settings from one PC to another -- so I don't have to try to export the Netscape 7 software + emails 'manually'?

what you want to do is move/copy all your email to a local folder on your old pc. Then all you have to do is copy that folder to the new pc then have your netscape point to the new local folder.

  3. Exactly... if it only were so easy.... it worked on the past with Netscape 6.x but now on the new PC and Netscape 7.x it does not 'see' the Profile, i.e. the old account with all the folder/subfolders. I also tried with Mozbackup 1.45 but without results...

you might have to install an old copy of 6.x to read the old mail. There is a doc of how to convert netscape to gmail but I don't want my email all store at gmail server, pass.:D
