Cops in FL now carry assault rifles...

    Also interesting, saw a lengthy TV special on the military process of adopting the M16/.223.[Model 15 was included, but i get those 2 mixed up]

    Lot of military resistance, for a long time, going to a .22 caliber from a high powered standard .30 caliber. Especially since the .45 pistol was adopted with too many cripples from the .38 caliber, in war.

    Several reasons it was finally adopted;
    much less recoil with a .22 caliber,
    Armed forces found .22 caliber was easier to learn to shoot than .30.
    much more ammo is easily carried,
    less noise.
    :cool:

    Think they changed it since i used it in the 1980's;
    think it's now 3 shot burst for fully automatic,
    or semi auto lever, which we used for long range .

    For close range ,like the 12 guage;
    used to be standard in every cop car-12 guage pump action riot gun.

  2. Yeah, when I used it in the 80's, there was single-shot or full auto. Now I think it offers both of those plus the 3-shot burst, but I could be wrong...

    I was never fond of the 16. I shot Expert with it but damn, that thing jammed a hell of a lot! And it wasn't because it was dirty. Really seemed to depend on the individual weapon. In Basic and AIT I had no problems with the rifle I was issued, but in Germany and Colorado I can honestly say that those rifles were real jammers.

  3. Col. David Hackworth thought the M-16 was a POS. He told a story about finding a dead VC buried in a mud hole from an artillery strike. His AK was covered in mud. Hack said it functioned perfectly, to no one's surprise.

    It was not an ideal weapon for jungle or urban warfare. The light bullet didn't penetrate heavy jungle vegetation in Nam or cinderblock walls in Iraq. In training we heard stories of the supposedly horrific injuries the high velocity round caused, but apparently it has a tendency to go right through the target without much expansion unless it hits something solid. That raises another issue: why are our troops limited to full metal jacketed rounds pursuant to the Geneva Conventions when engaged in operations against terrorists who routinely violate the Conventions?

    I've never shot one, but the old Thompson .45 cal submachine gun of WW II fame was an awesome weapon. Maybe we need to bring it back. The 1911 model .45 cal auto is still the handgun of choice. I think I'd rather go into battle with a Thompson than an M-4. Murray, Hap, which would you pick?

  4. Yup, you just keep hangin' yourself more and more...feed you an inch of rope and you'll stretch your neck out a meter!!

    If they had the chance, absolutely. Now, why don't you tell us all here what you think Al Qaeda's intentions are. We know you are convinced Bush planned and executed 9/11, so go on, give us your thoughts on Al Qaeda. (Recline your seats and bust out the popcorn, folks! This will be very entertaining!)

    It is duly noted that you have no rebuttal whatsoever to your hypocritical stance on President Bush.

    And, you'd be surprised, some of your favorite moonbat sources agree that Al Qaeda is a threat and understand their intentions. You see, brainiac, there are moonbats and then there are moonbats like you. All moonbats are really stupid, but not all of them are stupid enough to believe that Bush actually attacked his own country on 9/11, as you have said over and over.

    Good grief but you really are the intellectual equivalent of a pebble. I appreciate you quoting me precisely: "If morons like yourself had their way..."

    See, you're a moron. You're also an appeaser. If people like you were in power globally (think overthrowing your Starbucks manager in a coup d'etat and then having total control of your fellow barristas), Al Qaeda would have free reign to acquire whatever weapons they could, plan, and execute further attacks on the West in order to establish their Caliphate. Unchecked, who is to say what they could not accomplish? Oh that's right, you can say they're simply figments of the Bush Administration because you have secret access to FBI, CIA, and NSA files...

    I told you before, mentioning and posting pictures of Ann only gets the Zzzzenutroll excited...

    And oh, who am I scaring? You? I highly doubt anyone on ET is scared by what I say. Nor would I expect them to be. See, another major difference between you and I - other than the fact that you have severe mental problems - is that I do not share your belief that speaking my mind on ET is going to change the world. To a paranoid, lonely soul like yourself, posting on ET is akin to addressing the UN whilst being broadcast around the world.

    Thanks, man!

    You're intimate with somebody? Congratulations!!

    What's his name?

    Uh, no. You're the one who claims we are in a police state. When asked for evidence, you claim massive detention camps being built by FEMA for which you have no reasonable evidence (Google Earth links just don't cut it, sorry!), the Supreme Court is CONSIDERING banning the right for Americans to bear arms (gasp! I've considered robbing a bank, but I haven't done it. Does that make me a bank robber?!?), eminent domain (hardly the creation of Bush), etc, etc.

    Furthermore, you can't even name a single American who was arrested and thrown into a hole and tortured for speaking against Bush.

    Wow! This is some police state we're living in. Must be the most benevolent police state ever.

    Let's see:

    --Every American is free to say what they like, even that the President planned and executed 9/11, and that he or his successor is likely to do so again.

    -- No one has been picked off the streets or from their homes in the middle of the night Gestapo-style, tortured, and thrown into a FEMA-built detention camp to rot a la the Gulags because of their opinion about our government and/or the President.

    --Every American has a right to bear arms (assuming they don't have a criminal history).

    --Every American has the right to vote and participate in the political process to elect representatives and leaders.

    --We do not have a king, but an elected leader who can serve no more than 8 years.

    --We do not have a secret police rounding up, torturing, and imprisoning dissenters or paranoid morons like yourself.

    --The government spends enormous amounts of money on welfare and education of its citizenry. If anything, what is taught in schools and universities nowadays is far from conservative and in fact very liberal. It is from institutions of learning that much criticism towards the government is brought.

    --All Americans are free to choose the occupation of their choosing, to invest in and pursue their dreams.

    --There is no military draft.

    ETC., ETC....

    These are hardly symptoms of a police state. You want to see a police state? Send your paranoid ass to North Korea, a few select locales in the Middle East, Burma/Myanmar, a lot of Africa. You'd return crying like a little girl...

    I know you will never believe this, but the simple truth is that America is not and never will be a "police state."

    What we have tried to do, after watching 3000 of our fellow citizens vaporized before our eyes, is to try to find ways of protecting ourselves. We have essentially given our government agencies the powers to bear against terrorism that they have been given against drug dealers and criminal organizations like the mafia.

    I read somewhere that it's all fine and well to defend civil liberties, but hey, the Constitution is not a suicide pact. Of course, with paranoid lozzzers like yourself, anything that DARES tinker with any of our Rights is indicative of the evil nature of Bush and his gubment.

    Here's another question you're sure to evade: How have your personal freedoms, achilles28, been diminished since 9/11???

    And then you woke up in your drab, lonely apartment, and tried your best to go back to sleep and dream some more.

    Ref? I guess that was in your dreams, too...

    Well, at least you've got the "painfully" part right. It's painfully clear that you're a few eggs short of an omelette, paranoid, and a narcissist to boot. The only argument you can make with a high chance of success is that you ought to be committed in a place with padded walls.

    LA LA LA I Can't Hear You!!!

    I don't think fear mongering is a good thing. I do think, however, especially now that it is clear how disturbed an individual you really are, that induced comas are not an entirely bad thing. May I have your psychiatrist's number, please?

    As for your other comment, you are actually right for once! I am spending far too much of my valuable time trying to talk some sense into you. Unfortunately, it's like trying to convince Ted Kennedy that alcohol, cars, females, and bodies of water are not a good mix.

    Therefore, I must flush you down the toilet for probably the last time. If I'm extremely bored, I may bestow upon you the honor of further wisdom. But you'll have to ask nicely, or say something so absurd that I won't be able to help myself from bitch-slapping you yet again.

    Hopefully for you, someday you'll be cured of your dementia.

    Good night! Don't let the bed bugs bite! Happy Dreams of you winning something, no matter how impossible, i.e. an argument with me!! :)

  5. AAA, for close quarters, including the jungle and urban warfare, I'd likely take the Thompson.

    Keep in mind, though, that the Thompson is not well-suited for situations requiring accuracy over decent distance, i.e. more than 50 yards. It's strictly a close-quarters weapon, albeit a great one from what I hear.

    Hapaboy;
    Re; Deadliest mushroom in the woods

    Enjoyed shooting M16, it seemed a bit strange @first;
    high powered .22.LOL.

    And also prefer a Leupold 2X7 golden ring scope.

    Deer weigh about the same as a terrorist/commie;
    prefer 30-06,,.50 caliber muzzle loader.or .45 modern sabot.
    TN requires .243 caliber or larger for deer.

    And prefer hollow points or Remington soft points-''deadliest mushroom in the woods:D '' Typically they shoot right thru heart lung area, like a water hose nozzle ceans a dirt border:cool:

  7. Sounds like you know your weaponry! Does a 30-06 have as much of a kick as I hear?

    LMAO!!!!

    The only thing you've "Won" is a trip to the Sanatorium for Right-Wing Fanatical Psychos!

    Other than your feeble bitch-slaps that struggle to connect or your recycled ad-hominin that barely rouse the faintest of yucks, your tireless questions (thrice-answered) and flimsy "arguments" are swiftly destroyed by your own idiotic double-think and paranoid fantasies of "Muslim Conquerers."

    You evade and name-call to avoid accounting for a Neocon Leadership that played you for a complete Fool.

    And still, you shirk from the facts. Shun your gaze like a castrated dog to a reality you haven't the guts (nor the balls) to face. LOL...

    And all this haughty intellectual arrogance and posturing of yours.... I wouldn't relieve myself on your shirt if you were the only receptacle found wanting within a 5-block radius of a urinal-deficient Keg Party. :D

    The problem with you Neocon Sheep is Discernment. You have none.

    When I say North American Union, you laude GW as a "Conservative Visionary".

    When I say Osama-Bin-Forgotten, you say Iraqis need to die.

    When I say Open Borders, you warn of some shadowy Caliphite, 'just over the horizon'.

    You seize on these mindless Neocon talking points as if they're Manna from heaven, while you sit brainwashed and drooling to the night-and-day hypocrisy of actual Neocon DEEDS.

    Distinguishing Talk from Action is beyond your intellectual pay-grade, evidently. Stupid is as stupid does, as the saying goes.....

    Insisting the Country would somehow 'bow to an Islamic Calaphite', if Constitutionalists like me, were in power, just underscores the permanence of your inbred psychosis.

    Constitutionalists, would have closed the Border. Not kept it open.

    Constitutionalists, would have captured Bin Laden. Not relegated him to the Memory Hole.

    Constitutionalists, would have destroyed the Taliban. Not allowed their resurgence and control of record poppy fields.

    Constitutionalists, would have nixed the Iraq War. Not Fear Mongered an Invasion based on false, forged and conjured Intel.

    Constitutionalists, would have hunted down Al Queda. Not created legions of them in Iraq.

    Constitutionalists, would have exposed the North American Union. Not signed the NAU in stealth, then shilled for the destruction of our Constitution and Borders.

    See, Guys like you are hopeless Fools. You believe Government, blindly. Accept their propaganda, blindly. And go to War for them, blindly.

    You and your-ilk are modern-day Nazi-Brownshirts. Thats not hyperbole. Thats Fact given you can't discern whats fact from whats not.

    And your insistent all-or-nothing definitions of a Police State, "are noted". :) Wouldn't want to let something as irrelevant as the Constitution cloud your half-baked judgment when drawing lines in the sand.

    For all your paranoid rantings and harrowing calls for "Endless War", I'll give you some credit. Here it is folks, incontrovertible proof HapaGirl is NOT, I REPEAT NOT, a Fear Monger...

    LMAO!!!! What a Fucking LOON!!!

    Go back to fellating Anne Kuntlers 12-inch strap-on you Pansy-Ass Coward!! :D

    While you're at it, do us all a favor and GROW SOME BALLS!

    Its getting tiresome watching you parade yourself around here like the dickless Neocon Whore you're just so proud to be. :)
