Cops are getting more aggressive. This needs to stop. Hang 'em high, in my opinion.
    ---

A Florida couple is alleging that police climbed through a window into their home without a search warrant and shot their dogs.

The Pensacola News Journal reported the incident occurred Sunday around 10:30 p.m. when deputies entered the home of 22-year-old Travis Nicholas and 32-year-old Cristina Moses. Nicholas and Moses were awoken by the noise and handcuffed. During the incident, their two dogs were shot, with one officer claiming he had been bitten. One of the dogs was euthanized later as a result of the shooting.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that the officers were investigating an earlier case of aggravated assault. In looking for a second suspect, statements from the assault victim and witnesses led deputies to the home where they found one window open while all others were closed.

“An upside-down bucket has been placed beneath the open window with a footprint on it, indicating possible unlawful entry,” a sheriff’s office press release stated, noting that the officers made repeated attempts to have someone open the door.

When those efforts were not successful, the deputies entered the house through the open window.

The sheriff’s office said that upon entering the home, two pit bulls became aggressive, with one biting a deputy’s leg. He shot the dog when it came at him a second time. At this point the second dog ran toward the officer, which prompted him to shoot this dog as well.

The Pensacola News Journal presented more details about what might have happened: Earlier that day man named Wayde Morris was arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly coming at his ex-girlfriend and her father with a baseball bat and machete. A second suspect identified as “Travis” had reportedly pointed a gun at people. It is this second person that police were on the hunt for Sunday night.

Fast-forward to when Nicholas and Moses were awoken by police at their bedroom door. The couple stated that they didn’t hear knocking on their front door, and it wasn’t until the police were inside their home that the dogs alerted them to their presence.

“I opened the door, and there were six police officers pointing guns at me and flashlights, saying ‘Show me your hands. Get on the ground,’” Moses told the News Journal.

Moses stated that Nicholas was then dragged into the hallway.

“I couldn’t see them. I didn’t know if they were dead all the way or what,” Moses said of her dogs. “All I know is that they shot my dog and then they drug us outside, handcuffed us and put us on the curb.”

After the dogs were taken to a vet, the doctor assessed one of the dogs as having only about a 4 percent chance of living with a surgery that would cost about $10,000, Moses said beginning to choke up.

“They asked me if I wanted to humanely euthanize her so that she wouldn’t hurt anymore,” Moses said, wiping her tears. “And after thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to go ahead to sign the paperwork to euthanize her.”

“I’m frustrated because this could have been prevented,” Moses continued later. “These dogs never had lunged or bitten anyone ever. [...] I feel like my child has died.”

The News Journal reported that the officers did not have a search warrant, but noted that entering a home without a warrant is permissible if there is probable cause, such as fearing someone is in danger or that a suspect could escape.

The News Journal reported Nicholas denying even owning a gun. Neither Nicholas nor Moses had been charged as of Wednesday.

While the incident is under review, the deputies involved continue administrative duty.

I've told you guys over and over, this new "breed" of law enforcement is a total nightmare. They think they're soldiers in a war. They have no clue what real war is, but that's another story for another day... Since I've been out 15 yrs ago, they've gone insane. All I can say is if they crawled through my window, and shot my dogs, if I were home, they'd meet a .308 round their vests won't stop. If I weren't home, and came home to find my dogs dead, and my home terrorized, I'd make it my full time job to "take care" of these thugs in a way their minds can't even fathom...

There are some good cops today. There are some, however, who are as evil as the trash they're locking up... So sad. It wasn't like this "back when." :(

Here's the thing... Psychopaths are drawn to jobs that give them control. They love police work, social services work, etc. I spent months dealing with one that works for the County I reside in. She is a conservator for people that are out of control. She loves her job, she lies to get them to sign up for the program, promises them wonderful stuff, after they sign she throws them in some group home and if they don't like that they go into a convalescent hospital and wear an ankle bracelet. She lies in court, what a surprise, a psychopath that lies!!

I'm advocating that we diagnose psychopaths and get their wide-eyed faces up on the web like we do with molesters. We should do that as early in their lives as possible. They do 50% of all serious crimes. Not watching them continually is stupid. Not warning people about what they are dealing with is terribly negligent. Allowing them to wear a badge or get control of people is an utter disaster.

I recommend the one where the white cop kicks an old black guy for walking towards him.. it's broad daylight, the cop is watching the guy walk and the cops' report says he couldn't tell if the guy had a knife in his hand...

Otoh, those videos are reminding me to stay in shape. Gotta stop slacking off on the rebounder, might need my internal organs' connective tissue to be in really good shape if I'm going to take a surprise front kick to the stomach, all these karate expert cops on steroids are something I might have to endure apparently...

Last Friday I was in New Orleans and stopped with friends at a neighborhood bar for a sandwich. Through the window I watched two cops in their cruiser park at the corner next to a fire hydrant. They entered the bar where they also ordered lunch. If you know anything about parking in New Orleans, then you know that not only is it illegal to park within 15 feet of a corner, but it is also illegal to park next to a hydrant no matter where the hydrant is. Your car will definitely be ticketed and very likely towed. If it's towed, it will cost at minimum a couple hundred to recover your car and you'll pay a hefty fine on top of that. When you recover your car, any valuables left in it will have been "confiscated." No one will know anything about the missing items and you will not get them back.

  7. Ten grand to put a dog under the knife? These out-of-control bastard vets need to be stopped! If I were the vet I would have cut that dog open to get the bullet right there on the spot- no charge.

  8. I mean seriously, how is this sick fuck really going to say, cough up ten grand or sign the papers for me to euthanize? I'm floored by the greed in the veterinary industry.

If this pitbull would have had Obama-care, he might still be biting cops today.

  10. Bit of a stretch on this one, Don't you think, Lucy?

I mean, this isn't the first time a truck driver has gotten worked over.

I'm just not seeing a police brutality case here.

    There's one guy's word, and then there's the other's.

Surely you've frequented enough truck stops to understand the kind of foul mouths some of these guys can have.

He may have used some that dry bathroom stall humor a lot of truckers are known for, and got his jaw jack knifed as a result.

I wouldn't doubt an officer of the law's word anymore than I would a trucker's.

A trucker that's carrying a pill bottle full of salt, even...

What kind of shady shit is that?
